Size of shower floor tile, and alternatives to mosaic/river rock?

I am redoing a shower stall (unfortunately, its brand new - about 3 yrs old. Flip house I bought a year ago. Shower floor is not sloped correctly and never drains. Big standing water. Hack job. So for all the work involved in replacing floor, which is in itself costly, I am having whole shower re-tiled to my liking). I dislike river rock look floors (have that now) and dislike small mosaics or basic square tiles for floor. . I would like some type pattern like below examples or something like these herringbone design slate (not sure if real slate in the pics). That third pic is beautiful, love the texture, but I am sure not practical? I do not want anything shiny-look. But size doesn't seem to match what everyone says you should use. These are bigger, but not huge, tiles. Comments on these? I understand the smaller size is due to recommending more grout so less slip potential. Shower size is about 3 x 5. Very small bathroom. Thanks. I do like the "stone" look (meaning texture, not river rock small stone), and not sure yet what is available for shower flooring in this stone look, but these retro patterns/prints are nice too. Wall design pending. I will not use subway or anything similar.
