I dont know exactly what your snafu might be.

You're saying other streams recover from pauses but certain streams don't. The Pauses, you might try to figure out what is causing your pauses.

First place to start would be look in windows media player for connection setting under the performance tab ... or in whatever player you use. Make sure its not set to some speed faster than you actually have. There's lots of settings in there, perhaps one will stick out at you.

Also in windows media player you'll find a slider for video acceleration. Might slide that down one click.

Another thing that might lessen pauses is look for a check box to Drop Frames to keep audio/video in sync. Might try with that unchecked - but you then may discover some video's where the lips don't sync with the sounds.

Clear your internet Cache! too.

I had the same problem. (NBC Video Rewind) I was using AOL. I then used I.E and had no problem. Also tried it with Foxfire and everthing was fine.

mikie, you answer all my dumb questions and I thank you. When the episode comes up it is played on Innertube. I have declared my default player to be Windows Media--I think that's what it is called. I don't know how to bypass Innertube. If you are willing, you can respond to me directly at istj at tds dot net.

Did some reading about CBS InnerTube and it said they use Microsoft Media Player and Real Media. Yet the couple of video's I've chosen to get a look see always come up Flash Player.

Interesting the Video settings(link at top right of screen) say;;;; You can choose any player yet the only one listed is Flash .

You might try settings and see if in their window it gives you the opportunity to select Windows Media Player as default.

Flash Player 9 has some issues with lots of people. Including my laptops IE for the past two months.
I just used the Adobe websites special 'Flash Uninstaller' and removed it, then nosed around there until I dug up the last release of Flash Player 8, which seems to have fixed my IE/Flash issues.

Anyhow, Flash Labs has a new player in the works thats supposed to be coming out 'soon'.
Yet they have also been trying for about a year to fix the IE/Flash snafu obviously unsuccessfully. Apparently fixes for some have screwed up others that had no issues to begin with.

But it is sort of ,, Streaming TV! & Movies! Ad supported.

I'm gonna go back and watch some Victoria Secrets model interviews - hope Flash8 works ;)

mikie, I am so frustrated! I have followed your suggestions and tried repeatedly, but I can't get CBS Innertube to stream. I decided to try another network, ABC, and it worked perfectly. The only problem is that I desperately want to watch portions of two CSI episodes and they are on CBS!!!!! A Google search on Innertube problems resulted in many other people complaining that they can't get Inertube to keep playing, either. How can a network offer videos of old episodes on a format that doesn't work for half the population? I may have to buy a DVD recorder and record the episodes so I can replay any parts I want. My problem is that I sometimes can't hear all the dialog and I miss some content. I don't think my hearing is going--I hope it is my TV audio that is poor. Cranking up the volume doesn't do it for me.

I DO NOT recommend this action, but if you are comfortable with Innertube it might be worth a thought.

Have you tried turning off your anti-virus and firewall? I have read cases where one or the other have interferred with streaming.

If you do try please REMEMBER to enable any application you have disabled.
