HAVE: My package is just about there

Just got an email from USPS that my swap package has made it to my partners town and I hope that it will be delivered tomorrow. SO whoever gets a package in the mail from me will be pleasantly surprised and just watch out for the secret fertility fairy dust.....you might want to open the package outside and let the fertility dust spread and see if reaches any of your neighbors.

I belong to the moms club here in my community. There are a lot of young moms, several pregnant, most with young toddlers, some newborns..... anyway, my son is 11 yrs old so I'm one of the "older" moms in the club.

There was some talk yesterday about an old wives tale, something to do with sitting in this special chair and within a years time you will get pregnant and have a boy. So there was some talk going around yesterday and some of the moms were saying they wanted to sit in "the chair". So I said, "Hey, maybe I'll sit in it!" One of the girls wrote back, "I don't think the chair has magical powers."

I was SO insulted! What does she think I am? 90 yrs old?

Gosh!

So anyway if your package is coming to me, wouldn't it be so funny if I got pregnant???? I'd show her, that young whipper snapper witch.

I hope it comes to me! I could terrorize my sons neighbors with your dust Stacie...I've come to San Fransisco to help the boys with putting their house on the market and one neighbor is particularly odd. Maybe they need babies? That'll calm em down. LOL. Not.

It ain't always etiquette, either. Minimum wage isn't a law for no good reason......but it woefully falls short of providing protection for waitpeople (especially) and often agricultural workers. Uncles Sammy expects restaurant waiters to get tips. So much so, that he will automatically expect them to get it and hand out a substantial tax liability to them. Then he makes them jump through loops to keep track of it, including the employer keeping records. Come on, go to a fancy restaurant and the person you depend on to feed you is making a little over two dollars an hour?????????? Legally!!!!!!! Nobody should be dependent on a stranger's charity for money they have already earned. That's archaic. I know, I know, the restaurant owners say the prices go up if they pay a decent wage. Duh. When I add twenty to thirty percent on my bills for a tip, I have already figured out that my food is more expensive. The sad part is, that not every community or area of a community is home to people who can/do pay humane tips. And not every restaurant is possibility to some people who do this for a living. So, they work their bottoms off and get shafted, both by the customer and the tax department. I'd like us be like England, where a tip is just that.........over and above the expected, and only if you really want to give one.......and let the employer pay their help a legal wage. You cannot staple twenty percent of your piece of fudge to your 1040.

If it's coming my way, I'd be in that miracle category! Hey, some miracles are better than others. I remember an episode of the Bill Cosby show where Mrs. Huxtable (I don't remember the character's first name) decided she wanted to have another baby. Robin, I am so sorry about your Dad and Julian, hope they are both better. Sounds like you have not had a very good day. When I tore into my package the first thing I saw was the colander, it is beautiful and will sit on my counter until needed and I will use it. You couldn't know how many times I have thought about ordering the ramekins, those are just perfect gifts for me! I love the microplane, just makes the one I bought look like, well what it is, a hand held grater. You know how much I will use the ladle, I am really excited about it, how handy and canning season is getting close! I said I would let DH claim the strawberry jam, well it is already almost gone, it is so good. I don't make strawberry jam, strawberries don't grow to well here. Vermont Maple grade B syrup, if you haven't tried it then you don't know what you are missing. I don't think I have ever tasted anything like it. I thought I had bought Vermont maple syrup, but it didn't taste anything like this. It is wonderful, I think I could drink it out of the can. Thank you again, Robin!

Salmon from one end of the continent and lobster from the other...this is one good swap. You'll like Bittman's book I bet, Robin. I bought one for the kid's roomate when she graduated high school and, of course, had to preview it for her. The trivet is beautiful, Catherine... nice choices.

Oh man, I've got two rambunctious boys and I can't imagine having another one! How would one "neutralize" the dust, if one was so inclined????

Shaun, she's just jealous because you're such a hot mom and she's not!

Well, ladies, I got the package! And I used gloves to avoid the fertility dust. And Stacie did use a lot of it...ROFLMAO!!!
