sp3 is exactly the same nothing has changed with it what I am saying is those are the end of support days that MS has issued. If it caused problems originally it is still the same service pack and would likely have the same response. I have one of mine that still has sp2 also because of the AMD processor and some of the conflicts it had with sp3, whether I will try to go to sp3 I have not decided yet. But if I did I would do it not through windows updates but from the actual sp3 update site either by ordering the cd or downloading the update then I would follow all the original suggestions for installing it like disconnecting from internet, disabling all antivirus programs and firewalls and doing the install that way or even in safe mode, that would give the best results and is how it has been suggested to do it since the beginning. Of course many people had no problem installing sp3 but for those who did have problems it was pretty scary going and definitely put some off of trying it.

I have the ASPIRE ONE 722- BZ454 net book...I do not see on the back of my net book any numbers like you had mentioned AOA110 or the other...so what does this mean? I have an updated net book? My battery is fine so far, but just wanted to check in the event this may happen to mine in the future. BTW, I used just once the internal camera...when I first bought this unit, and now I don't know how to initiate it. No manual or anything.

netbook is much smaller than the regular size laptops. They also have a much smaller processor so not the best at doing heavy tasks. The keyboard is pretty small so that would probably make a difference for a man, plus much smaller screen. Best bet is to go somewhere and just look at some netbooks and see they are all about the same size and price. I got this one for my husband it is an actual laptop so has the much better processor and is the bigger size. all you need to make sure of is that it is a usb plug in, that it will read and BURN DVD's if it does it will most likely also do various other things including CDs. They are not very expensive, I picked one up on clearance at Staples for under $20. There are many out there that are only players not burners since you will want to use it to make your discs you need one that also burns. use this search string on google to find lots of results usb external cd dvd rw burner drive for laptop netbook some will require an ac adapter some not, for the most portable you want one that does not, some will require use of 2 usb ports to help power it, if it will be mostly used at home getting one that has both options would be best so you can plug it into power when you are home and use only usb power when traveling. If you have windows 7 starter on your netbook be aware you do not have a media player on that OS you will need to download and install a media player, I like VLC free. In general it is simply plug and play that easy plug in the usb cord and start using it. the x in the number such as 8x or 6x or 12x is the speed it will write to DVD or CD. the bigger the faster not really that important unless you will be doing a lot of burning. You may run into some that also use blu ray format which means they will play and or burn to blu ray discs and will be much more expensive.
