Thanks, Dave. I attached a link to the other post. I seem to have some replies now. You hit the nail on the head - I'm thinking I've either overfed them, or neglected something. The peppers showed the yellowish rims on the leaves before I ever touched them with a fertilizer, and I've never applied fertilizer during the heat of the day. I'm in North Florida and our tomato planting season was to get them in the ground NLT 9/1. I ended up getting them in the ground about a week before that. The peppers have been in the ground since 8/13 or so, and were planted from seeds saved from a container pepper with no deisease. The rest planted on schedule according to the UF planting guide site. I read that Neem was anti-fungal, and thought the yellow spots could be some infection in the plants, and therefore the spraying would help keep it under control. Could the compost tea have burned them? I don't think I have seen any additional effects after spraying the tea, other than them getting taller. Should I scrap the pepper plants, and plant beets or carrots, and cut off the lower yellowing tomato branches? Thank you SO MUCH Dave! I wish you had a TV show! Hi Frank ! this is my first year to give roses a try again...I manaaged to kill three about fifteen years ago, and vowed never again...but they got ahold of me again this spring ! I found that my four newbies (all planted in barrels and tubs) don't do well in the 100+ weather either ! So my daughter helped me "roll out the barrels" to light shade areas, where they receive early morning sun, then shade most of day, til late,late sun...so far, so good... They get oodles of water at least every other day, lots of mulch, and handsful of epsom salts watered in well about every two weeks...the ES really perks them up ! They are all blooming, but not profusely...I'm just happy they're alive ! I tried shade cloth tented over one first,but she "Blue Moon" wasn't happy with that...I guess natural shade is better ! I'm in Bullhead City AZ, so when winter arrives, they can probably take more sun...Right now,we're having a "cool" spell with highs in the 90's ! We'll be in triple digits any day now ! I've had a new SQ TL set for about 1 month and love it. I do not have soft water, but I did for many years in my previous home. Do you have a water conditioner? I ask, because when ours needed attention, it affected rinsing soap/detergent out of everything. I would suggest that you only wash with 1 HE detergent, skip all the other products, use the appropriate water temp and cycle for the sorted clothes and detergent - don't wash jeans with nice delicate items for instance - and use the correct level of water. I would do a second rinse since you have soft water. I love the small and medium levels. I only use delicate cycle for nice blouses, tanks, etc. and usually a small load. The delicate cycle is too gentle to get your everyday clothes clean. All that said, please use the dryer - no dryer sheets - and save your time and sanity, since the dryer isn't the source of the problem. I really like the nearly dry cycle choice for alot of my clothing. Using Downey and dryer sheets is adding a layer of 'stuff' on your clothes you don't need - just my personal opinion.
