The thing about helping others pays off in it's own way.
Many, many times when I don't have an answer to someone's question, I go out and look for a solution.

So .. in this respect, Those with the questions, help us too by giving us an excuse to learn even more! 8)

BTW: Your command of the English language is noted And appreciated by your use of the word "recurring".
You'd be surprised (or maybe not) at how many folks use the non word "re-occurring"!

Thanks Pam a nice thank you is always appreciated. As mentioned when helping it often helps us learn also, and it is some what selfish because the more people we can teach to keep their pc secure and prevent infection the more we keep infections from spreading and that is the main goal. Each computer we secure means one less computer that is likely to send on an infection and less likely to become part of a botnet spreading their spam and malware around. So helping others also helps prevent the bad guys from succeeding.
My mission is to pass it on/forward, I was helped, I will help.

It is always gratifying to see a thread of this nature. Also nice to see a 'fixed it' reply to a thread when the right help is given and the computer is running well again.

The worst case is when help is requested and sometimes several replies are offered then the original poster never appears again leaving everyone to wonder what happened. Even lurkers fail to learn anything from those threads sadly.

I want to add my THANKS to all of you who help out on this forum. I feel so secure to know about this place, because the couple of times that I contacted the so-called "pros" I found the experience very unsatisfactory. It is so good to know that the real pros here on this forum are so much more knowledgeable than those at Microsoft, where I never did get any help, and at a couple of other places. Sometimes I knew more about the product than they did. And the patience you all have!! Bless you all. I read this everyday now, and I learn so much.

I just want to add my thanks as well to all the patient pros who take the time to answer and help with questions. I learn a lot here and although I use a mac, I still like to stay informed because my kids use Windows. I've gotten a lot of information here. Thank you!

June, I sort of fall into the same category as you. I first came here in 1999 when my first computer was really messed up. Because of this forum and the people past and present who help here, I have never had to pay anyone to work on my computers, and I have tackled tasks I never dreamed I would. Like you, I help my friends, and they look to me when they have a question. LOL!
