Back already, Salena, think you're talking IE, not Firefox Owbist, The load automatically was checked, I tested both checked (as it was) and unchecked...it made no difference. To be more "graphic" (ha), the homepage is left justified with text that is active links, there is a little graphic/picture at the top and bottom. The page is also two or three pages in length due to everything being a left justified "newline". Any more ideas? May have to reload Firefox..it is 2.0. That said I think I can get away with just running install and letting it write over what is already there, i.e., I don't have to uninstall, which I'd like to avoid. Thanks.

do you happen to still have the paper work that came with it like the directions and the instructions manual that will have all your default info in it and how to reset it. If not look on the bottom for the model and google that you should be able to go to the manufacturer site and find the manuals. Did you set up your router originally with it connected to a desktop computer, in other words which pc did you install the software on? The router is setup on the family PC not my Laptop. Unplugging the router (and modem if one) itself from power and powering down all the computers, then power up the modem if you have cable first then after a while power up the router and once it is fully up then power up the various computers, often makes a big difference. I think we have a modem and a router for Xbox and laptops. are you just using the Vista built in firewall? Yes.I'm using the windows firewall. what are you using is it cable or dsl or what for internet? My son says it's cable/DSL internet. have you done all your windows updates? Yes.Except for three optional ones. I'm confused about resetting the router. That would be on the main computer. Will this help my laptop internet connection?

I have iMac running leopard and Firefox 2.0.0.6. Never had any problem with Tiger or other Firefox versions either. Wondering if maybe you have some incompatibility with your versions. Can you say versions using? Another place to look is free Mac Forum below. I've found good help and fast response times there. Better Mac-specific advice there than here. Also, Safari does work fine. When I have uninstalled firefox before installing a newer version the bookmarks, history, etc. have stayed in the Mozilla folder. To be double safe you can export your bookmarks (bookmarks > organize bookmarks > import and backup) to a file in your My Documents folder before uninstalling. That way you can delete the folder after uninstalling if you need to do so to install an older version.
