Spywareblaster

Doing some maintainence on hubbys computer when I noticed Spywareblaster was not 'enabling all protection' when clicked on. I am getting an exclamation point stating 'not all protection enabled.'I kept clicking 'enable all protection' but it would not.
It appears it won't enable protection on active x's. I began to self-check the boxes and manually update but after 45 mins of checking I decided to ask here if anyone has run into this. There must be 1000's of boxes to check.
Should I uninstall. and put in a new install?
This is the computer where we had the Win XP Repair virus previously and I am suspicious by this behavior. Ran MB and came out clean.
