First off very good that you came here and asked us before you jumped in and got any programs, that is definitely the best way to go, and I applaud you for that. If you had WOT web of trust installed on your pc you would not have to be asking that question however, googling spyzooka their homepage was the one at the top, every thing around it was flagged bright RED by WOT and McAfee site advisor, WOT has that site totally blocked I can not even access it that is how bad it is. Personally I don't need anything more that that to tell me to run from it. Also after doing some looking I found that sypzooka has been listed on the rogue-software list at spywarewarrior, that in itself would keep me away from it, any program or company that has been on his rogue list at any time would not go on my machines even if it became delisted because the fact was at one time it was a rogue, I simply do not trust them to change. And when going to this page which is supposed to be an advertisement for some spyware programs http://ttreviews.info/ IT IS ALSO RED FLAGGED so I would not go there! and the others that are advertised there along with spyzooka are all known rogue spyware programs. And several of the MVP's have said in forums it is not a suggested program since it has been on the rogue list. I agree with Owbist here, when you have an incredible program like malwarebytes antimalware that you can get free or if you want it to run real time and give more options pay the paltry fee for it for life! and have a good excellent program that is used daily in all the support forums. Or superantispyware which is free or pay, it is also an excellent program. My test of what I can depend on is to visit the support forums and see the tools and programs they are using on a daily basis to fight the good fight against malware. If those people use it I know it is good period. And I urge everyone if you use these excellent free programs please consider a donation no matter how small to support and thank them for being considerate enough to offer their hard work to us for free. Thank you Ravencajun, I completely missed that one I must have fallen asleep. I see what you are talking about. I had Spyware Blaster before and it was removed from my computer when I took it in the shop. It had nothing to do with my firewall acting up, although something caused it not to come on for 30 or 40 seconds after I booted up. Now it only pops up for a half a second and then turns on. I still have not figured out what caused that problem. That is one of the main reasons that I took it in. Now the red X pops in and out right away. I have windows XPSP3 with Norton Antivirus and it seems to be catching something and removing it right away. It is Atdmt.com and one orphan cookie. Those seem to come in when the computer sits idle and Norton removes it. Thanks a lot. thirdfrt!!!

I'm not exactly sure what the quoted writer is complaining about; SWB not running in realtime following a bootup, or the application is not active following bootup so to provide a faster response if user demanded. The free versions of SAS and MAM do not run in realtime, and I personally have the lone "services" entry, which is for SAS to load faster, configured to manual. The only realtime detection I have is my AV. DA

Goldy, SpywareBlaster does not remove anything from your computer. Instead, it helps protect your computer from bad stuff. When you download it, be sure to click on "enable all protection". Then it should tell you that it has protected all the browsers that you use. The number of items listed in the database is just showing you how many things it is protecting. Mine shows 15770 items in the database. Yours will probably have a different number. You do not run scans with this program. All you do is keep it updated by opening it every few weeks or once a month and click on "Update", and after it updates, then click on "enable all protection". That's it. It just helps protect your computer and does not remove anything. Again, I would urge you to install WOT. With that, you don't do anything but pay attention to the ratings it gives different sites and stay away from anything that is not shown with a green circle.
