Where's the email site on FF?

I am used to the Page heading on top of page in IE, where I can zoom, and send d link etc., where in FF is such a place to use, rather than clean everything off, and go to outlook ex?

FF is just a browser, and you can have any number of different emails, all of them able to be viewed in the FF browser. Can you be thinking of Thunderbird? I remember seeing that mentioned somewhere as a Mozilla (maker of FF) email, but I personally like gmail and lycos, so I use them, along with the Cox email that comes from our Internet provider. There are many free Web-based email providers. Gmail and lycos are among them, and there is also free email from Netzero, Juno, and others.

You probably have one email at least that comes from your Internet provider. You can type in its address in FF, then make it a bookmark, so that you can have it on your bookmark toolbar, easy to access with one click. You can go to other emails and sign up for a free account and bookmark the address in FF. I never use Outlook, so I don't know how that is handled, though.

Are you referring to the "send link" function in FF ? Simply click "File" at the top left of the menu and you'll see the "send link" item about half way down the menu pop-up. Clicking it will open your default email client on your computer (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.) with the link already in the compose window.

Leon, I hope you're out there. I just sent you an e-mail by Outlook. I hope you get that. Maybe check spam for my other messages? Or maybe it's my computer. You don't realize how much you rely on these infernal machines until they won't work. In any case your package will be sent next Monday. Herman, Thanks for the tip, but I'm not using FF e-mail. But mine seems to be just as messed up.

I've been using Firefox since longer than I can remember, and a beta version has never been pushed to me. Auto-updates to release versions, yes. Beta versions, no (I am not subscribed to the beta channel and have never been forced to it). Regards to browser security, there's a newly discovered vulnerability in the SSLv3 protocol -- POODLE is the acronym. It's a combination of browser and server. SSLv3 was superseded some while ago by TLS, but many servers are still running SSLv3 (along with TLS). A secure browser connection that starts on TLS can be tricked into downgrading to SSL 3.0 (if the connecting server still supports it), and a hacker can intercept bits of the data flow when that happens. The expectation is that SSL 3.0 will not be patched since it's considered outdated. Servers that are running it will (should) soon be reconfigured to no longer support it. Users who are running old browsers that don't support TLS will no longer be able to connect to secure sites such as online banking or shopping after servers no longer support SSLv3. The recommended defense until servers are fixed to to eliminate SSLv3 is for users to set their browser to not allow SSL 3.0 connections (minimum TLSv1). If your old browser of choice (or requirement) doesn't support TLS then you're stuck being susceptible, and will be out-of-luck when SSLv3 is fully redacted. IE6 , for example, supports TLSv1 but the option is not enabled by default, it must be manually turned on. (TLS is currently up to v3, which IE6 does not support past TLSv1.) Test your browser

Solved. I essentially restarted the comp. I had restarted the Xserver several times but since I am working off a live CD that isn't the same as rebooting the whole thing. Well now I know. My memory was about right. In Preferences the colors can be changed for links etc and I thot that was where the problem was. Well if a restart fixt it no telling what caused it.

LOL Kframe! Glenda, my Aunt Dott would probably make your Savannah tour guide as well as Paula sound like they're from the northeast! Aunt Dott was married to our uncle and he has a Brooklyn accent - they moved back south many many years ago - he still talked Brooklyn and she always spoke "Southern" - and is a great cook. In fact I had sent her Paula's Not Yo Mamma's Banana Pudding recipe a few years ago after I made it - Aunt Dott made it too :)

And thanks so much! I have made up my mind I will conquer this FF browser if it is the last thing I do!
Now, if I can just get the favs thing figured out, I might be able to make some headway!
biwako, appreciate your input also, and I do have other email accounts, just wanted to be able to send myself things when I find them is the easiest way I know of.
