Go to the page you want and set that as your home page. If you don't know how to do that, then you'll need to provide more info...like what browser are you using.

I am using Mozilla Firefox. But when I delete the AOL page, my regular screen appears behind it.

Sounds like could be (aol something) is set to run at start up. Look in the start up folder first, because I do not know what operating system you use I have given you a link that explains the start up folder stuff, in your case you would look for anything related to aol and delete it.

Always best to go to the start up folder first before using msconfig and if you do need to look here we can provide directions.

I went to the start up folder and it said for WindowsXP, click on Start and then Properties. Alas, properties isn't there.

Did you use the right click button on your mouse?

go to start>all programs> on the left column look for Startup click that it will show you what is listed to begin at startup which is I believe what you were looking for if there is something there you do not want to begin running at start up just right click the item and remove it from the list..

I went to Start-Up and this is the list that appeared:

Compaq Connections
Compaq Organize
HP Digital Imaging Monitor
Google Updater

I don't think any of them is what will get rid of the page that appears.

I went to the Startup Folder site that you listed and I got stuck at "Open the Programs folder and then open the Startup Folder". I clicked on it but nothing happened. I guess it's a lost cause..lol. Thanks, all, for your help.

actually that link zep provided was a very long way to get to exactly where you went already LOL the list you show in your startup folder do not look like anything that would cause that AOL page.

When you boot your pc before you even open your browser that page comes up? or does it come up after you click to open your browser? What exactly is the page why do you say it is associated with AOL?
you may have a malware infection causing it.
have you scanned with superantispyware? if not get it update it run a full scan let it clean what it finds.

I clicked on the "Help and Support" button on my Compaq page, then to the "System Restore," clicked on Sept 9 as the date to restore the system to, and presto! the AOL page was gone when the computer came back on again. Simple!
