Is there a way to quickly bookmark - or copy/paste all open tabs?

This is something I've often wished were possible - and it's just occurred to me to ask if it is.

When I'm using Firefox, I often have many tabs open at once. For instance, now I am shopping for a new lighting fixture. I have about 30 tabs open on my PC with the different lights I'm considering. I will not have time to look at these selections and narrow them down before leaving for a long weekend away. Rather than bookmarking each one at a time (or copying and pasting each link into an email to myself), is there a quick way that I could have all the open tabs remembered - or bookmarked (so I could easily re-open them all next time I'm at a computer - either this PC or a laptop while I'm away)?

I have a few add-ons which might help but I'm not that familiar with what they offer and how to use them: read it later, xmarks, share this,... also happy to install an addon if it provides this function.

This is a frequently recurring need/wish I have. I could be on my office laptop, home laptop or home PC - and start exploring something and have many tabs open for comparison sake - and then not have time to finish researching them. On my laptop now, I have about 10 open tabs with articles/posts that might help set up my wireless access point (for those following in June/July - the saga continues and solution is still evasive).

Thanks for any help. I'm looking for a bookmark all at once (or copy/paste all at once).

Lynn I think what you need is the add on bookmark all, I would create a new folder on the bookmark toolbar name it what ever you like, then use bookmark all to bookmark all open tabs at once to that folder, then when you need them you can access them one at a time from the folder or right click the folder and select open all in tabs.

I have an add on called Add Bookmark here which I love, I have my folders set up on my bookmark tool bar and in my bookmarks area, if I am on a site I want to quickly add to one of my folders I just right click on that folder and select the option add bookmark here, very easy and quick

I'm not sure what plant #2 is, but you should cut off all the dead parts. It is re growing from the base. This is the best time of the year to do all the cutting back. Plant #1 looks like pampas grass to me. You can cut all the green back too, it will re grow quickly once it gets a bit warmer. If you could get better photos, of plant #2 and post in the Texas Forum you will get a good ID on it. Hanging out in the Texas Forum will give you a wealth of knowledge about how to care for your yard/plants in our climate. ok lets see if I can tackle all this LOL yes you can change up the items and names to simply just have the favicon for the site there, just go to that one on the bar and right click on it then choose properties there you can change the name, eliminate the name or just put an initial what ever you want. If you have several that deal with one subject like news for example create a folder on that bar and move all the news related ones into that folder, which will give you more room. Tab mix plus the add on will give you a lot of options too. To change up your "chrome" as it is called like I did on mine so I only have 2 bars and no empty space, go up to the top and click on view> customize> and once that has opened then you can drag stuff around from bar to bar and move things where ever you want to, it is very similar to unlocking the bar so you can move it freely. you can do away with any buttons you do not need by just dragging them off the bars and into that box that opened when you hit customize, I also used from that box the smaller icons so I could fit more. I never liked having my bookmarks in sidebar and have not messed with it. I do think there are some specific add ons for that though. what you can do with your screenshot is upload it to imageshack then from there you can get the forum code for the thumbnail to post here so it will not take up much room, the code you want will have the Clipboard is where your computer saves things when you click on copy then you go some where and hit paste and it posts it from the clipboard. With fireshot once you click on the big red S and capture the pic you have options at the top of what to do with it, one upload that will upload it to a web server and give you the code for that picture to post here in a forum, Save click that to save the picture to your pc this is a good option just put it in your pictures folder and you can always find it. there are many options, but with fireshot I believe you can only capture the open page not the actual browser itself. Even when choosing full page it only captures the open page in the browser. so you will probably want to just use your screen print button that is on your pc. Up on the top row of buttons is the Print Screen button just click on that and it saves it to your clipboard, open your photo editing program and paste the pic in there, then you can save it, Also an easy way to do it is to open an email and click paste in the email and it will add it there, I do that sometimes and just email it to myself especially if I will be needing it on one of my other computers since I can access my email from all of them.

I generally agree with the direction of the responses though not necessarily the overall tone of the conversation. For me, internet users have way too much paranoia and not nearly enough common sense. For the average person, access to your passwords (as if someone were busting their gut to get them, which isn't the case) will do what? Allow them to use your subscription to the NY Times, resume saved games you've played, see your sister's photos on Facebook? Yeah, really. Keep it in context. The risks are more imagined than real. Now, past that, nothing is better for keeping passwords than a piece of paper and a pen. That's what I set up for my 95 year old relative to use, it works fine for her. If you use your PC away from home, make it a text file high up on the folder tree on the hard drive so it's easy to find immediately. Even in its own top level folder. Take deep breaths, move on. Password containing apps or programs are really not necessary.

In case you're wanting to organize your "Bookmarks Toolbar" a little... 1) Right-Click within the bookmarks toolbar, either an empty area or a preexisting bookmark (the folder will be created to the left of the bookmark you click but if you don't get it exactly where you want it, you can still drag it to where you want it) 2) Either name it as you create it or right click it later to rename it 3) Drag all the bookmarks into it that you want. 4) You can always drag them around to reorder (or right click them to delete, rename, etc.) Not sure if this video is scaled such that you can see what's going on but this is how I would create a folder, call it "mail" and drag bookmarks into it. . Yes, I probably have Firefox setup to look differently than yours but I would think it would work the same.

I don't have the bookmark all add-on and I can right click on a tab and choose "bookmark all" from the drop down menu.

Wow. These are great alternatives. I'm trying them all out. The Bookmark Current Tab Set is very handy - simple - and just what I want to do. I actually downloaded all three bookmark addons that Raven recommended. I'm experimenting with them to see where they place things.

I was easily able to bookmark all open tabs from 3 different computers - so I can play around with it this weekend.

Jean - I had no idea that there was also a simple drop down option. I just have to see where that puts the bookmarked tabs.

Raven - are there any icons that will allow me to place those bookmark add-ons where I can access them with one click. Right now I'm going to the Bookmarks menu - clicking - then clicking the option. I know that's just one more step, but I figured there's likely to be an icon I can just put on my the top (can't believe I'm blanking on the name of that - not the tool bar per se but one of the lines about - like where the file - edit= view - history - bookmarks, tools - help menus are. I have various icons for other addons - like firefox showcase, adblock plus, Wot, Outwit. Is this a matter of whether the add-on develops include an icon to add? Or is there a way I can add one (I didn't see it in options for these addons and don't remember how I got the icons I already have).

In Firefox, the third option down under Bookmarks is "Bookmark all tabs" option. Keyboard short cut is CTRL+SHFT+D

Lynn that bar on the firefox top area is called the bookmark toolbar, you can create a new icon there or folder, to do that just right click any where on that bookmarks toolbar and select new folder, then you will be able to name the folder or to take up less room you can just leave it as the folder icon, I usually do some abbreviation so I know what each folder icon is. For example my folder that holds all of my email links is Mail but the one for Imageshack has the imageshack frog icon so I know what it is with out a name on it.

This addon might be helpful for you, you can at least look at it to see where the bar is and how the icons and folders look.

there is also an addon that will give you multiple rows should you need more real estate up there for all those new icons and folders but then you start taking up your screen space.
