Your luggage fiasco sounds like a nightmare, but having just returned from a trip to Europe, I can completely relate. One of my greatest fears was that we would make a flight and our luggage would not. Thankfully it all came out fine, but we had few tense moments! I was pleased to read that Owen was skilled in speaking airline-ese and recovering your luggage LOL

Becky, that sounds like a wonderful/horrible trip, as I guess most trips are.

I really enjoyed your blog, especially those beautiful Iris, and I'm hoping Hoppy Toad is living happily in your garden.

Becky, I just got back from Italy a week ago. I am attaching a picture of a roofless cathedral that reminds me of some of the ones in your pictures. I'm glad you enjoyed your vacation despite the airline/ luggage snafus. I apologize for Philadelphia's bad weather (my home town). Nice to see the picture of our skyline.

I only had one hour fifteen minutes between flights in Frankfurt on the way home. Sounds like enough time but the flight from Rome to Frankfurt is on a regional airplane and they leave you off on the tarmac and load you onto a bus to get to the terminal. Well, the flight was full of Asians and Midwesterners returning from their tours. Man those people are s-l-o-w. No offense to the Midwest folks in our group, but you sure are not in a hurry. ;)

I was sweating bullets as I weaved in and out among the slowest people on earth. Then I ran through the airport (including those people mover things) to get to my gate. Thank heavens boarding was delayed! I even had time to use the bathroom.

I had awful jet lag for about three days. I also had the end of Daylight Savings twice -- once in Italy and a week later at home. My internal clock is totally screwed up, plus I completely missed October (was gone three weeks), so it feels like I went directly from late summer to winter.

Anyway, my trip was awesome and it sounds like yours was,too. I'd love to see Ireland.

Annie, I like to thing that Hoppy toad made it to the outside world and its his relatives I'm now seeing in the flower beds.

Dedtired, glad your flight was delayed. An hour & 15 minutes isn't much to run through an airport. Glad you were able to get your flight. We were in Ireland for 2 weeks, so I can understand about missing October. The picture of the cathedral is nifty! It looks like it was reconfigured a few times.

What a wonderful trip. I have been to Great Britain three times but missed Ireland so far. How lucky you were to be able to take such a fine trip. Thanks for sharing it! And Pam, I expect pictures soon . .. .please!

I enjoyed your blog especially the castles. I am a castle freak and have to stay in a castle (one night) every trip. I'll have to rethink Great Britain, especially Ireland. I always drive in Europe and I'm dyslexic so the left side driving scares me...more than driving in the Alps in snow!

I don't know where my next trip will be. This was my first big vacation in about 10 years. I'd love to see Tuscany, Vienna, Iceland and the Grand Canyon.
