It's pretty good for a May or June apple. It's crunchy and has pretty good taste for a Mac type apple this time of year. I know it's all about storage.

Thanks! I wanted the blue one, but Wal-Mart ($90 - $25 gift card = $65 out of pocket!!) was out! Phooie. I ordered the silver. I have started using the batteries for digital devices in my Kodak at work and they really are worth the extra money! I had regular rechargeable ones and I could only take 10-20 pictures before they were dead. I used 2 of the digital ones for about 5 months (200+ pics)! I was very surprised as I figured they were just a 'marketing scheme' to get people to buy more batteries. I don't want to have to worry about running out of battery life on vacation. With the AA size, I can pick them up anywhere! Deanna

Another question to all you helpful people, is there a way to always save the files created in OpenOffice as the MS extentsions, .doc, .els etc? I made some test documents and sent them to my husband. When they were in the OpenOffice files, he could no read them. When I save the files as MS forms, it was fine. I am afraid I will forget to change the extension every time I save. Thanks again!

Eleena, I am sorry, I seem to have been optimistic in my earlier report on the price. Let me explain. I paid $15/sq. ft for the raw materials. (This was a 50% off sale from M. Teixeira's usual price of $30.) Shipping added another $10/sq. ft. to the price of the raw materials, so that comes to about $25/sq. ft. However, that is for the raw slabs. Obviously, I had to buy more square footage than my actual countertop area. After factoring in the reduced area, my price was about $36/sq. ft. of installed countertop. Finally, there was labor. I did almost all of the fabrication myself, but there is no way I could possibly carry the slabs to install them. I "hired" some friends and their young son to help carry them to the fabrication spot for the cost of a nice dinner. I also had to pay some other young'uns to carry the slabs into the kitchen after fabrication. So these labor costs bumped my total costs up to just over $40/sq. ft. I apologize for misleading with my selective memory!
