I, like perhaps other members, didn't have a clue as to what the original thread contained. After doing a search with the engine provided on the homepage I found it on page three. You might want to consider putting update posts on the original thread. When it pops to the top members know there is new information. Do you know the name of the file that is missing? Are you sure that is the only one? Did you get more than one recovery CD when you bought the computer? Perhaps there is a second CD with those needed files and you are trying the wrong CD. During start up with the CD in the drawer does the CD player activity light appear for quite a while suggesting the CD is being read? You might consider putting the CD in the computer you are using, stop the auto start as it occurs, then use Windows Explorer to verify you have the right CD. When you entered the BIOS you tried to change the sequence to CD then hard drive then floppy. Did you hit F10 to save and exit? If not then were you prompted to save the changes and did you follow along? Seems like you may have exited without saving the changes.

Pam (pkponder) my be right, do you have a second keyboard to try? Value Village will sell you one for a couple of $$ if you do not have one or cannot borrow one for a few hours. Check the Event viewer click Start click Control panel click System and Security in Administrative Tools click to view events log in the new window click Windows log on the left side click System in the drop down choices the events now show in the centre panel so scroll down looking for red error messages and if you find any double click on each to read the error. There will also be a link, if you click that you will go to the Microsoft site with an explanation. To find out which BIOS is installed tap your Delete button a few times as soon as the computer starts and you will enter the BIOS. Change nothing! To leave click the ESC button and agree that you do not wish to save any changes and the computer will boot normally again.
