Only one tub in the house -- air tub?

My contractor suddenly has some time between larger jobs to do my bathroom so I have to make a lot of decisions in a hurry.

I only have one full bathroom in my house, plus a powder room downstairs. The only person living here is me so that's plenty.

However, this is a neighborhood that often attracts young families. I wish I had a buck for every baby born on my street in the past 34 years since I moved in.

Anyway, is there any reason not to have the only tub in the house be an air tub or whirlpool? I am thinking of the day when someone might want to bathe a baby or toddler in there. This one won't be set in a wide deck, it will be more the size of a standard tub. Will you still be able to lean over the side to wash the kids, or is there something about air/whirlpool tubs that poses difficulty in bathing the tots?
