OMG, where do I start...to think my idle comment sparked this hotheaded commentary, lol, boy am I glad some of you who favor terse and boring passages in their descriptive prose have not read the novels that I have written on this forum to expostulate on my mower's ailments...which mownie has picked up and RUN with... I have to defend Mownie, here, because it is precisely his willingness to expound on details that makes his posts informative, AND exceedingly helpful. I learned more in a week about my mower's basic fuel and electric systems than I have in the ten years I have been dinking around with it...and I am definitely an amateur. Mownie's eloquent and colorful descriptions really make the problems and the solutions clear, and no one of course is ever beyond correction or clarification for that matter! As far as the quotes...they serve a vital function in separating the "quoted" from the response, especially when you are like me, and mownie, and tend to ramble on about this or that, and it helps to REFERENCE the passage that he is about to comment on. Guess some of you never really learned the mechanics of goood writing and the use of punctuation to illuminate your efforts to communicate??? Besides, aren't you talking about *****ASTERISKS??****** those are NOT "QUOTES" !! In my opinion it is very helpful to have that text set apart from the answer or comment or whatever. Finally, Mownie, I think this is a very helpful thread to anyone who in fact is NOT aware of the cut-and-paste basics of computer-ese, which I suspect from reading posts in ALL CAPS and mis-typed words and stuff like that, and that a lot of folks who DON'T dabble in computers use these forums because someone suggested they try. And in the end it IS a FORUM, and if the info is too elementary to be useful to you, you can proceed to more complex dialogue as it suits you...whereas if you DON'T know stuff like cut and paste, it could be a pretty handy gadget when someone opens your eyes to it. SO in the spirit of assistance that these forums are supposed to offer, mownie's post on this subject is in effect very useful, or is bound to be for someone, and that is why it is there. There are folks out there that will surely be helped. Finally, oh, i said that already, in general cut-and-pasting of elements relevant to your search for a solution when gathered in the course of surfing this forum is indeed a good idea, especially if it pertains to your particular make and model of mower or engine. Now to find those little tidbits out there again... SO Thanks, mownie; every once in awhile an innocent and well-intentioned attempt to be helpful sparks a major outpouring of public opinion. Hi Warren, I have an HP computer that is a little over a year old and on the very top row there is a button to the left of the delete button that says "ins" (on top of button and "prt sc"(on lower half of the button. Now, when I have Picasa on and minimized (it won't work unless Picasa is on, don't ask me why) all you have to do is press that button and it takes a screen shot of what ever is on the screen at the time..anything..an email, picture, something from Ebay or the web. I just stumbled on this by accident by pressing this button in error instead of the delete button and VOILA! I use it all the time! I don't know if my older now dead computers had this button and if they did I wasn't aware of it, but they might have. Then of course it goes to my pictures and I have to change it from a png to a jpeg and send it the regular way you send pictures. I know I'm not very articulate in explaining things since I didn't grow up with computers...and have been muddling my way through for the past 6/7 years... You can than crop out just the text or picture that you wish to send. Now there may indeed be an easier way and if there is I'd be interested too, but this has been a lifesaver for me as I used to take "pictures" of the screen in order to save something or send it in an email or whatever. I use this method constantly to save pictures or text whenever I see something I want to save..now, if you have a lengthy article, you may have to do this several times to get the entire article. Far from an expert, but try clickables. I work with two windows: one with GW and the other with photobucket.com. To load up photos from your computer on to photobucket.com, see where it says "Upload Images & Video" then choose files to the right of that. In this case it would be "from: my computer." Click "Choose files" and it should take you to photos you've saved on your computer. Then click on the photo you want to load up to photobucket. Click "Open" and it will load up. You can edit or do other stuff, but I just click on "Skip this step now" listed on the left side over the photo. Now your photo is in your album in photobucket. To load up to GW, click on the box right under the photo (you are still on photobucket.com), then scroll down to the bottom of the page where there are these blue boxes (on mine anyway) and select/click the last one "Generate HTML and IMG code." Then, copy the first one (HTML clickable thumbnails ...) and go to your GardenWeb screen to the "Message" box where you want to post your picture, and paste that info in the box. I can't use the brackets here to show you, but they surround the word "center" at the beginning of the HTML coding and at end. By deleting the words "center," this will flush your photo to the left instead of leaving it in the middle. Examples: Hibiscus flower If you want to add wording to your photo, you can experiment where you want it, e.g., I added Hibiscus flower to the beginning of the HTML code. You would follow the same procedure to add more than one picture (know one can do multiple selection of pictures, but I haven't tried that yet). Also know that you can always use the "Preview Message" here on GW and if you don't like the picture selection or you want to add wording, as long as you don't click on the "Submit Messagge" button, you can always edit. Hi JustMe! I have been wracking my brains and searching for answers. Decided finally to try to convert the mp4 to mp3. And thought while I'm at it I will re-download a saved video from June of this year (done with the earlier version of youtubedownload of course). Maybe uninstalling Adobe removed a needed component??? While trying to do the conversion I clicked on the new download file to get it into the conversion (?) and it opened in VCL, and Played the Audio! I can go to bed now. Oops, so I check the file extension on the June video file versus the same video re-downloaded tonight --- .flv on the June one and now it's downloading as a .mp4 --- I assume utube has done this to all their content. Maybe my computer just needed the reboot to kick things in gear :-) Thanks so much for your backup. To bed. irisgal
