Toto Eco Ultra Max Toilets--As good as G-Max?
Comments (4)I have an eco drake and 2 eco gwenyths. No problems with waste removal on a single flush. I'm trying to incorporate more fiber in my diet and you know what that results in. The 1.28 gal flush has no problem handling that. You can simulate a 1.6 gal flush simply by holding down the handle for an extra second but I've never had to do that other than as an experiment while I had the tank cover off to check how much water was left afterwards. The tank holds more than 1.6 gal - it's the same tank as the g-max....See Morekateskouros & Others - Comments on Your Toto Lloyd Toilets?
Comments (9)Hi three_acres - I really like the looks of the Guinevere, but have been leaning toward a 1.6 gallon flush vs. the 1.28 from what I've read here. I'm in the metro DC area, and knowledgeable sales folks here say the Gmax is better than the newer Cyclone, but who really knows??!! Still haven't made a final decision, all I know for sure is that I want an elongated, skirted toilet from Toto, and not something too contemporary looking, as our house is pretty traditional. I need to find a Lloyd so I can see it in person, but it was one of the finalists when I was checking out Toto's website. And then I also saw that kateskouros got these, and I like her style. I likely will make purchases locally, with a 25% discount or so. But I've been price shopping online just to check (and maybe with a call you can get better pricing?) - but the irawoods.com website looks pretty good -- large selection and good pricing. (I have no affiliation, just found them through google and other sources.) I agree, I like the Sanagloss feature, but a lot of folks on Gardenweb have said they can't tell a huge difference (but maybe I've missed some posts on this?) -- let me know what you hear. We are hoping to start construction soon. Good luck with your project, hope it goes well! I think the look of the Lloyd will be perfect for your reno :-)...See MoreToto G-Max or E-Max toilet flushing system?
Comments (25)@sunfeather I've talked to plumbers on other forums & they said that the flush is about the same. Both have around a 1000 MAP score (which is very high & good). One of the main differences now between the Drake & Entrada is that the Drake now has a canister/tower flush mechanism instead of a flapper but the Entrada still uses a flapper. But I've had people tell me they still perform about the same. E-Max will use less water (so might need someone to hold the lever longer or do a second flush if there is something particularly stubborn in the toilet) but the benefit is that it will use less water & meet eco standards in some places. E-Max will probably save $ on water in the long run as well as up front on the costs since E-Max is cheaper. I would give it a try, but I can't say definitively until I use an E-Max toilet. If I ever finish the reno & get the E-Max installed, I'll give an update on how it performs compared to the G-Max ....See Moregood deals for Toto toilets and tubs - where?
Comments (5)I must repeat, as I always try to, that I am of record as a friend of the owner of National Builder Supply and I write a blog site that I use their name in because of my friendship. I am not employed by them nor paid to endorse them. With that said I am a customer of NBS having bought both 2 Toto Ultramax toilets and just recently a Toto Washlet and as a customer not just a friend I highly recommend them. Now to show my fairness I recently did a project(for a soon to be published blog) where I compared prices, freight and service on some of the larger online marketers in addition to HD and found that National Builder Supply and Faucet Depot were neck and neck regarding both and far above any of the others. Equally as part of my daily life I read and respond in some 30+ discussion forums such as this one and find both to have the greatest service recommendations. If anyone is interested in knowing the oevrall results of my project and the other marketers let me know and Ill tell you when I publish the blog. My conclusion at the end of my survey was a very Strong Cavet Emptor because some of the ones I reviewed employed considerable trickery when it came to listing prices then when you get to the point to settle up your shopping cart you find excess freight charges (especially on tubs and toilets) and hidden service charges. I am truly disappointed and trying my nest to make sure the word gets out....See Moreshel67
