remember my backsplash...

Well a few weeks ago..I found "it"...

and did this..at first it was going to be just behind the sink and on that wall...well I sent hubby back to get more tile sheets, so I could do all the counter top back splash around the whole kitchen..LOL The whole backsplash around the kitchen is level in height to what you see here.

It's 1" glass tiles in a chocolate brown, a rusty brown and tan..then the grout is called Sahara Tan..pretty much matches the tan tile. These colors are also in my Corian counter top.

Just last year my Step-father bought a $300 Harmony all in one remote for his entertainment toys. The battery died and he went to buy a new one at Future Shop and Best Buy and they don't sell that model or battery anymore!!! If you will Google Battery for xxxx (insert brand and model # in place of the xxxx) you may very well be able to find a replacement battery. On my cell phone I did that and found a battery supplier (Ebay) that sold the batteries for just $1. Another time I got one for a neighbor and it was just $5, probably still cheaper than buying the original equipment cell phone battery. Sue

Both my kids have had knee surgeries. Tell your sis to see if they will give her a cryotherapy machine for at home. Some insurance will cover it and some won't. It's a little ice chest that pumps iced water through a cooling pad that is laid or wrapped around the surgical site. It really helps with the post operative pain. DS didn't even take pain meds but he hate them and is very stoic. The ice unit was a life saver for him. He paid for it out of pocket since his insurance wouldn't cover it but I imagine they can be rented.

I am so sorry that you went through all that, and sorry that others did as well. It is a shame that you arenÃ¢ÂÂt getting your money back, but that is why I am going to say what follows here. I donÃ¢ÂÂt see any benefit in jail time for this. She will cost the state money while she is imprisoned, and will likely not get that much time if this is a first conviction over unordered furniture. YOu and I would see time in jail as a horrible situation. For her, it might be a small price to pay for a short time, until she is free to cheat people again. What I would rather see is that she would have a judgement against her for whatever amount she has stolen, and be in a probation position which required that a certain percentage of any income she would have, either her own or her share of joint income from her spouse, would be paid directly to the state for restitution to you and others. This would include any inheritance, lottery winnings, investment income she has. That probation status would also require that she be reporting and show where she is living,and working. The reason? Because I firmly believe that the character flaws that permitted her to pull this in the first place wonÃ¢ÂÂt be changed by jail time, but her deception skills and anger will likely increase. There is NOTHING to keep her from pulling the same crap once she is out. Yes, probation costs the state money as well, but nothing compared to housing an inmate, imo. And if she and her DH donÃ¢ÂÂt work to avoid paying the judgement? The judgement never goes away, and she lives with no income at all.

Sorry it took so long to check back in on my question, but we were out of town for the wine fest all weekend.(Our DIY would be moving much quicker if we could just stay in town) Thanks to everyone for the responses. Suzieca, gorgeous backsplashes in your link. The bamboo belongs in my future master bath - after DH recovers from current reno. Cate, you were right it was your thread. The khaki red was what he was thinking of, but mauve wouldn't work for me. If you still have the sample, I'd be happy to pay shipping just to exclude it from contention.

I agree, do you travel? Looks great! You sure do get a lot done while taking care of those boys and DH. Not to mention the dog, garden, sports, school...man I'm gettin' tired just thinking about it.

Terri that looks really good! If I recall, you were thinking of some brighter coloured tiles before? These look so sharp, great job!

Yes Janet..I had some 3 or 4" tiles picked out some that matched the wall, plus black, a white and maybe a golden color..but I just couldn't figure out how to mix them up and how much more of the "base" colors to use than the "accent" colors..and I wasn't really sold..
I wanted something that would blend with everything but the wall color,,,but including the current wall color..LOL get it? Anyway, it had to work with the cabinets and counter top most of all...Just in case I ever decided to change the wall color. :o)

David and Brenda, I don't have time to travel..but given a good bribe I might be able to swing it..

Oh and I did the adhesive and tile sticking on a Sunday afternoon, while Dad was changing the oil in his car and washing the vehicles..the boys were buzzin about, in out and at the park...

I then did the grouting on the following Thursday...it took me the better part of the whole day while they were all gone!!!
