Di - The site says 0 is a perfect score, so congratulations! I scored 8, which for my gender and age range is good.

I scored 78 but I'm not sure if that's good or bad. Don't quite understand the scoring....

Electrolux IQ Touch pair first impressions
Q
Comments (13)
This is week three with my IQ Touch pair. With the two of us, four cats and three parrots I'm doing two to three washes daily. I've been using Persil and I am over the top pleased with the wash results. Some readers may remember that I got the pair because of one cat urinating. Well, the problem is still there, but the washer/dryer does a great job on Queen size comforters. I only wish it could fit my living room love seat. I'm trying every product to save that. The washer is very quiet - which is important since I am on the fourth floor. For me, this washer dryer is an answer to all my laundry needs - except for that darn love seat.

Electrolux discontinuing IQ Touch 55 series?
Q

I've read that the 55 series does not have the recirculating water jet. I like the one in my washer, I can see that it distributes the water more evenly. Also, the 70 series (and possibly the others as well) allows you to choose the time that the washer runs by adjusting between "minimum", "light", "normal", "medium", "heavy" and "maximum" soil levels, so this time manager feature sounds pretty much like that. Also, "vapor action" sounds an awful lot like "steam", which is also available on the washer. The allergen cycle gives an extra good rinse and boosts the temperature on the wash. I'm interested in seeing what they're coming out with, but what was mentioned above doesn't sound new. Cj

just recieved my Electrolux iQ touch washer and

Yes I am very happy. My wave touch would sometimes ball up the towels and clothes, with the iq touch I noticed that this did not happen, here's why. My wave touch manual says it has "cascading wash vanes" and the photo in the manual shows big vanes, well the vanes in all the wave touches I had were very small and dinky vanes, that looked nothing like the photos. My iq touch does have the big vanes with the three blue dots, these bigger wash vanes help un ball up the clothes or towels. I noticed the towels or clothes would hit the bigger wash vanes on the iq touch and by doing so would unravel the balled up clothes. I'm not sure why the wave touch series shows these bigger wash vanes, but yet doesn't have them. They sure help out a lot. I've had a lot of bad wave touches, due to shipping I believe, the iq touch was double wrapped and came close to perfect. I noticed some lines on the stainless steel tub, upon closer look they are two scratches. Now they don't look too deep and don't bug me as long as they are superficial. Can a stainless steel tub be punctured? I don't want to go thru another exchange, I just want to make sure these scratches won't turn into a crack. They are a little depper than a zipper scratch or buckle scratch. What do you think?

... just one tablespoon of detergent ? (cont'd)
Q
Comments (20)
A follow-up to my previous post that was a response to the question quoted in same response ... Yesterday's load of clothing had no suds in the final rinses. Ran a Sanitize (not "clean machine") cycle right after that, with no detergent or bleach, for routine cleaning. ~Today, I washed a small load of clothes, in our Miele W4842 FL washer, that consisted of: my husband's microfiber travel blazer size Large or XL (it has been washed a few times previously, in our old top-load); three pairs of nylon soccer shorts; one size Med. cotton tee shirt; one pair wicking fiber athletic socks, two medium tote bags made of nylon woven with either a plastic or vinyl laminated to fabric. I mostly tossed in the other items with the blazer in order to give it a fuller load. I did not think washing *just* a blazer would be a good idea, but what do I know....I'm still on the FL learning curve. I used the cold water setting and one Tablespoon (15ml) of Persil Color Gel (liquid) on the Wrinkle-Free setting. Our water is moderately hard (right in the middle of the hard/soft water scale) and moderate in pH. Package directions suggest 40ml for soft water, so I went with approx. one-third (1/3) of that due to the smaller size load. Suds; almost two inches of suds in and around the laundry and on the door. Suds in all the rinses. When the cycle finished, there were still suds in the gasket fold and on the gasket. Next, I ran the entire load thru a Delicate/Cold cycle and NO detergent. Still had suds in the water, including all three rinses in that cycle, so I next ran it all thru the Rinse/Spin cycle twice. Either that blazer was retaining a lot of detergent from its two or three previous washes in either Charlies Soap or All F&C, or one Tablespoon was too much for the size load and synthetic type fibers. Or maybe both theories are right? Now that I've had this machine for a few months, I am able to use more than 1/4 of the suggested dose of any brand. If there was indeed detergent build-up/residue from the old TL washer, it is finally all gone by now. It would appear that way, since now I can use more detergent. Possibly the synthetic fabrics don't absorb the water/detergent mix, and I needed less than 1 Tbsp. for today's load? Truth is stranger than fiction.

That's fun but the scoring is screwy. I got 695 and I only did one of three tests.

That's cool. Although I can't see straight right now. I also got a zero, and I'm 39.

I'm thinking the score is how many chips you got in the wrong place, which would be why 0 is a perfect score. Dedtired, I'm thinking you didn't understand you have to do all 4 strips before hitting "score test", which would be why you have such a high score.
I got an 8 too. Have to work on that :-)

I scored an 8. What does it mean?

Oh, I get it...duh! Well, since I've got monovision & don't focus as well as I did pre-surgery I'm pretty happy with an 8.

I got an 8, too. I wonder if that's the most common score.

Dedtired, it scored you that way because you didn't finish. I think you are supposed to do all of the bars.

I got a 12 - it seems to tend score in multiples of 4 at least for the low scores - perhaps one tile swap is a 4.

To some extent it is a test of your monitor's color IQ as much as yours I think.

I think Sally is right about Dedtired's score. It scores all the bars even if you do only one.

I got a **0** the second time I tried it. First time was an **8**

Kinda fun!

Man...With a score of 78 I must be colorblind!

Nahhh. I am blaming it on my monitor. Oh and my dial-up connection! Yeah....that's the ticket!

OMG, I opened it up and promptly got a headache, I didn't even try to do it.

Of course, I paint everything white, I hate colors. LOL

My first test score of 0 must have been a fluke. I took it first thing in the morning before coffee or cleaning my bifocals!

I've taken it 2 more times and gotten high scores. I was kinda suspicious about this test as I've never "aced" any test and all my walls are white! lol

I just retook the test & scored a "0" this time. It helped to sit back about 3' from the monitor. The colors just sorta placed themselves from that distance...course that could just be I see better from that range?? Does make me feel a bit better though since I got an A+ in Color Theory in art school!

Cool, I got a 4. Considering I had a eye doctor try to tell my parents I was probably color blind when I was a pre-schooler, I feel vindicated. LOL!

Taking a test like this online is kind of silly. It's supposed to test how your eyes see color, but every monitor displays colors differently. The light in the room and time of day also affects this (sunlight, warm or cool light bulbs, etc.). The viewing angle also changes how the colors appear. Tests like this have to be done from pre-printed samples under special "neutral" lights. Like the paint sample cards at the paint store can't tell you what the color will look like on your particular walls. None of you are crazy.

I scored a zero, but might not if I took the test at a different time of day.
