another architect question - 3D renderings

Actually this question goes for whether I end up with an architect or residential designer.

Is it normal to get 3D renderings? Do most architects/designers offer this as a standard contract deliverable or is it something you have to pay extra for? (Hoping it's standard!)

Looking at black and white sketches and blue prints is great, but it seems to me that 3D renderings will give me much more of an idea of what the house will look like when it eventually gets built.

I'm just worried about getting something I really like and I'm the kind of person that definitely needs to see it before knowing.

Best,

Bill
