My 2 cents, since nobody asked is that the forum is still a valuable resource and generally a pleasurable experience. I used retina's instructions and the flash ads went away. One extra click to find an email address is tolerable if iVillage has moved it to protect me from spammers, and that may well be what's up. I sent a message to the website hosts telling them they broke the "Remember Me" checkbox functionality and have asked them to fix it. Hey! Maybe that will work!! We'll see. Mary

Hi deanforestglade, To answer your first question, as I said earlier, its a tedious process. If you right-click your mouse with the cursor on the photo, and then click "properties" in the pop-up window, you will get something like this: "http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i29/jaro_in_Montreal/AbieslasiocarpaCompacta002.jpg" This shows that the photo is stored in a personal account at www.photobucket.com Other forum participants may use different photo storage facilities, but it always comes down to the same thing: you need to store your photos somewhere else than this conifer forum, and then include a link (html code) in your post, that picks up the photo from wherever you stored it. Why do people put up with this crazy scheme ? Beats me -- especially when there are other forums where you can upload your photos directly from your computer (such as the UBC Conifer forum, at the link below). Maybe its because the other conifer forum doesn't have all those wonderful commercial adds slowing down your computer, every time you flip from one page to the next ? :O) As for the photo editing, personally I use Correl Draw. But there are lots of other graphics softwares available -- some I think even come with your digital camera... Good luck -- hope to see your photos soon ! Before I turned over my computer to my son, I wiped the hard drive clean and reinstalled Windows. The same exact Windows XP the computer has always had. It runs IE 7, same as my current computer. The computer uses the Windows HOST file. All I did was add the sites I want to block. 127.0.0.1 myspace.com 127.0.0.1 etc. But I can still access those sites from his computer. The method works fine on my new computer. And when I had his computer it worked fine then too. I can't think of anything that has changed. Pooh Bear

Last evening I decided it was time to update to Firefox3, so I went ahead and did that. Then when I came back on to surf, everything was like molasses at Christmas time. I thought I had messed up for sure or else FF3 was the pits! Thank goodness it was GW, not me or FF3. BTW, this is a good time remind every one that has problems with ads, etc. that using FF will solve all that. Sue
