Thanks Mikie, but I have IE 7 and don't have anything that looks like that pic or anything similar that I can see via IE>tools>internet options> and checked all of the tabs...thus no way to change things that way. Am I missing something there? Might anyone know that has IE 7? Should I maybe just update to IE 8? Advantages? Disadvantages? It seems there should be some way to get the setting right in IE. btw...a friend had been here, so when I went to the Windows live log-in page it was also showing her email addy too. Just for kicks and giggles I clicked on her email addy to see it if would go to her In box without asking for a password. No go...it asked for a password on hers.

As promised, I'm back with an update. It is now working! but I'm not sure what really fixed it, or if it maybe just fixed itself. I know what I did and what order, thus what didn't fix it. I did the router/modem unplug/wait thing and rebooted...no help. CCleaner-no help disc clean-up via accessories-no help reboot-no help updated and did full scans using Super-antispyware, and Spybot Search and Destroy, and Malwarebites Anti-Malware Nothing of any significance was found via the scans and after checking for updates and running that many scans I couldn't say for sure if I rebooted between each one or not. I just know it took a long time. I ran the Malwarebytes last and only cookies were found and I discovered the Hotmail started working during the scan. I'm now a happy camper but have a new question for a new thread. Thanks again Zep. At least my computer is all updated and clean. Lastly last night I even went and did updates on Windows as I don't like having them set to automatic. Sue

The past month I've had an advertisement to the right of my hotmail email page and at times I can not read my entire email as this advertisement overlays the body of the email. I too have that happen and use Firefox and was told how to get rid of the advertisement. Well now the advertisement is gone, but now there is a box with nothing in in to the right of the message. Up at the top of the email you should see where it says (in a yellow box) This message is too wide to fit your screen. Show full message Click on the link-Show full message- and you can then see it all. hth. Sue

Hotmail/Live/Outlook.com (all the same!) goes down. A lot. It has nothing to do with your end's equipment. If one of their servers goes south, it drags. It shows up badly because it keeps EVERYTHING except your message headers and preferences on its servers. That includes your attachments, mail, mail aliases, and address book. You rely on their servers to be hot and spicy, and they ain't always so. If you complain (I have) they'll get back to you after things are fixed and report no problem found.
