Free photo to DVD burn software?

Anyone know of a free download software (not a trial version)to burn photo's to DVD, that will play on most DVD players?

Try Ashamppo website, they offer their Burning CD program 6 for free. It is the real program, not a trial. I used it and I have bought some software after using it. I upgraded to the current version.

I have a CD prog, I need a DVD to burn images+ add music make a DVD prog.to send to family, which will play in all DVD players...

Coho, I posted on the other thread before I saw this. Several years ago, I purchased a computer that had Norton installed. I could not burn a DVD on that computer until after I removed every trace of Norton. When I called Tech support at Norton, they told me that it was a known problem, and sent me a refund check. That was many years ago however, and I wouldn't think they would still be having that problem.

Yes, I would agree that my kids are very tough on CDs and DVD's, one scratch will render a $20 movie useles. For this reason, I copy most of my CD's onto my hard drive, where I can either watch them on my computer, transfer them to my Ipod or burn to a DVDRW disk for a backup (for personal use within my own home, of course.) I found two programs that enable me to do this seemlessly. One is Slysoft, Any DVD, available at at www.slysoft.com. When installed, this pgm runs in the background, and it will "decode" any decription written into most store bought CDs to prevent copyright infringement. The other program is Vault 360, available at www.bambootech.com, which will format all your movies into the correct format to download and play on your ipod, PSP, or PDA device. Of course, be aware that copyright law prohibits the use of such software for any other use but backing up a dvd or cd to protect from wear or accidental damage, etc. --John

The link below provides information on just such an offer. It's from a well respected site that I've used for a long time. You don't have to take my word for it. If you like, you can join the site for free and seek out additional information and do the same here at GW. If you are capable of following the instructions provided, you'll have a very fine piece of burning software which I find very easy to use. I don't use the other programs included in the offer. If you decide to take advantage of this, I strongly suggest that you create a junk email address (if you don't already have one) and use that during the signup process because you will get regular emails from this company offering additional software. I burn Windows Movie Maker projects to DVD all the time. Under Step 3, I choose: SAVE TO MY COMPTUER. In the next window I type in the title of the movie and select it to save under MY VIDEOS. In the next window (MOVIE SETTINGS) I choose OTHER SETTINGS, and I select HIGH QUALITY (NTSC). After the movie has saved, I open up Roxio's DVD builder. I am using an older version, so it may be called something else in your version. I then import the Windows Movie Maker video file and add that to the DVD. You can add more than one WMM project to the DVD or just the one you have. I can answer any other questions if this doesn't make sense.

Your problem probably will not be with the DVD software. The problem is that there are so many different DVD formats. You would need to know what kind of player you are making the DVD for to be sure it will work. Not all players will play ALL DVD formats, but almost all DVD software is capable of making DVD in all the formats, DVD-r, DVD+r, DVD-ram, etc. The key is, you have to know the brand and model of the DVD player to be sure a DVD will play on it.

I have no problem with the software, have actually found one, free but limited, only 36 pics. allowed, and it re-codes,formats,etc, and plays in our 2 DVD players, however would like one that allows more pics. and also don't know how long, I can use this one before they bug me to pay for full version.. so figured someone here knew of a total free one? this one also erases or formats and writes over a DVD-RW, has very kewl transitions too, seems ashame to burn 15 mins. on a 2 hr. DVD..wish they made shorter length DVD's??

If your DVD burner is on your computer, try the mini DVDs. I can burn the small mini CDS on my laptop DVD drive so I am going to buy small mini DVDS to burn photos to. I found the mini DVDs in the camera sales area of Walmart where video camera supplies were.

I am also interested in the burning to CD. I had another DVD/CD burning program from them that was great but I didn't realize it was a trial program until it stopped working ;).

I'm having trouble finding the free CD burning program 6 on their site that you kindly linked....can you help me by posting a link? Thanks so much.

Pam try the link below, the Burning program 6 should be on the right hand side. Do not use a script blocker. It is a flash script running with flames . Once you download it makes sure to get the free license for it. Once I test the link , my browser blocks the script so I don't see it but it worked in Firefox.

I had Ashampoo, but got rid of it, as the DVD's did not play in other players, like my nieces Sony, and this company still bugs me with e-mails...and yes it was the Free 6.76

I also downloaded and installed that free version on Ashampoo after reading these posts but it did not created a proper DVD of my mpg videos. It just saved them onto the DVD as mpg files and they would not play on either of my TVs through their DVD players.

If you are putting some photos on a DVD for viewing, you might try making a VCD instead. There are many "How to articles" and other information on the Videohelp website. Scroll down the page to "VCD Sample" and there are links there showing how to make them. If you explore the videohelp website, you can find out just about anything you want to know about making DVDs, software, recorders and players. They cover just about everything.
