Help with error message - email

Here I am again. I hope someone can help me with this problem. I talked to Charter last night about a similar problem, but that is a very long and drug out affair so I'm hoping you very knowledgeable people can help.

I get this message when I log on to Outlet Express. I sue XP Home and Firefox. Do you need some other info?

For my computer and home network I would get
that error message if the network went down.
I sometimes have to reboot my router if it stops working.
When it stops working it is as if I lost my DSL connection.

I can't tell you definitely that is your problem.

Do you have dial up or high speed access.
If the latter, can you unplug the power cords to all
devices on your home network; ie: router, network hub, etc.
Leave them unplugged for a couple of minutes then plug them
back up. Also reboot your computer at this time.
Report back with the results of all this.

Thankis, PoohBear for answering. I have high speed access. I did reboot, and unplugged for a couple of minutes. It didn't seem to change anything. I have done a little more looking, and this is what I have found: I am recciving and sending emails ok. In OE,I went to tools, accounts and see that I have three accounts. They are
Janet Type- mail Connection- any available
mail.charter.net Type- mail Connection- LAN
pop3 Type- mail(default) LAN
The problem seems to be with the third account pop3. Under properties, servers for this account it simply says pop3 or smtp, instead of pop.charter.net, or smtp.charter.net like it says in the account Janet. My question, is it ok to delete the third account titled pop3? When I get the error message above, there is a box that flashes on the screen that indicates it is checking all three accounts, and the first two are ok. The screen flashes on so fast I had to close and open several times to read it. As you can tell,I am not very knowledgable about all this.

yes the order is important, you want to start up in this order power up the modem let it get fully lit, power up the router let it get fully lit, then power up the main pc fully then any other computers. and the rule of thumb is to wait about 5 mins downtime, from what I understand that gives time for your ISP to refresh your IP. Anytime my power goes out I also make sure when it comes back to power up in that order also. glad you were able to get things going right again.

Hey Roc, I'm still using Miele Tabs--figured "if it aint broke, why fix it...?" I cut mine in half using Wusthoff kitchen shears--they slice through the tabs (and their wrappers) like the proverbial butter. LOL I cut a handful or so at once, and store the cut halves in a small deli container. If I'm running a particularly full/dirty load, I'll sometimes use two halves, or use one "large" half and add some of the powder that has collected at the bottom of the container to the dispenser. The last time I ordered the tabs, I got a great online deal on them, so got 2 or 3 pkgs. They last a long time since I cut the tabs in half and run the DW 4-5 days/wk on avg.

It's PROBABLY the ol' Jandy AquaPure sensor issue. If you have a control panel, look to see if there's a 171/182 readout that flashes on the little screen. (You may have to push the salenity button). If so, then the sensor (the gray, circular part threaded into the AquaPure piping, with the thin cable coming out, is bad. there's been MANY postings all over the internet regarding this... and I, myself, had a bad one installed when our new pool was set up this May. Call your PB to arrange a Jandy service call. If those codes are present, let them know so they can bring along a good sensor. Hope this helps! JerseyPool

Since you're in a Program that isn't Windows a Restart/Reboot most likely won't work. Have you tried Right Clicking on the Email and then choosing either Cancel or Delete!

That 3rd account is not set up correctly and is causing an error it should be set up as follows

Incomming mail (pop3)
mail.charter.net

Out going mail (smtp)
mail.charter.net

Change the settings as above and see if the error goes away.
