While I think that the "FAQ" as outlined by swanoir was presented tongue in cheek ('the humus'), many of the subsequent comments and/or links to threads that could/should be included in a FAQ were presented in a more serious tone. And maybe they do make sense as a foundation to a real LD forum FAQ. But I've also sensed something else in these comments that may contribute to the apparent lack of communication between new posters seeking advice and those that regularly frequent this forum and offer it. And that is that the long checklist provided by Miss R must be (or should be) answered in detail before posting. Well, of course not! But it is definitely something worth reviewing and giving some thought to. This checklist, or something very similar, is what most designers utilize when first meeting with a prospective client. It gives them a feeling for what the client wants to do with the property, how they intend to use it, what they hope to get out of it and how much effort (time/$$) are they are intending to put into it. Hopefully, reviewing an outline or checklist such as this could help to refine and focus some of those blank slate questions and even educate those new posters totally unfamiliar with the process the degree of complexity, the number of variables and exactly what is involved in the formulation of a landscape design. Even DIY landscape texts intended for the homeowner with no previous design or landscaping experience offer similar checklists to get one started thinking about the process. Obviously, this is overkill for those questions that are more issue-specific, but I think very appropriate for those that are much broader and far less focused.

VERY GOOD, Misty! Wow! I don't have a CLUE how to do a "screen shot"---never even heard of that before---but, boy, does that ever do the trick! I was sitting here trying to figure out how to "show" the link without having it "become a picture!" When I first tried to show the href part of the "embed" link and the whole post came up underlined and in BLUE, I just sat here and cracked up! I think I might copy your screen shots---yes, I found the other one in your album---into MY Picasa so I have them handy for future reference if somebody else is having trouble trying to figure it out. Back when I was first trying to figure out how to post pics, BPgreen took the time to spell it all out step by step for me, and I've always appreciated it so much! Re my "choice of pictures," I was in a hurry and looking down my albums for something to post as an example, and the first pic is the cover I had chosen for the album for my trip in June. When I saw it, I just couldn't resist posting it! Here's another shot---looking toward the (back of the) house I was staying in---yes, it DID have a bathroom! It's a FIVE bedroom house that's on the National Registry of Historic Places---and it was $60 a nite! The whole house! I was out in the boonies TOTALLY alone! The doors still used old fashioned "skeleton keys," and they couldn't find the key to one door---so they told me to "just not worry about it"---"it" being, locking the door! I didn't worry about IT! LOL Here's the whole, cool, place! It's in the Nebraska panhandle! And, yep, the barn was included in the $60! It was built in 1914 without blueprints, with lumber cut on the property! And if you're wondering "how my brain works" when it comes to photography, here's a pic of the Facilities at another one of the places where I stayed. :-) Skybird P.S. Misty, I got your email. I can go into the Firefox preferences, under the Content tab, go to the 5th "button" down on the right and change the color to a background color I personally find more soothing (and change font style and size, too, in the previous window), and UNCHECK the box that says "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above." The problem is that it applies my choices to ALL my open browser pages...not just GW. If I could just affect GW and move on like normal, that would be great. I could also minimize my window until the white outside the vertical lines disappears and stare at my Lilly wallpaper. Or I could open up two windows side-by-side and multitask through GW!! Think of the possibilities, GW...double the ad play!!!!! No, not on my screen(s), my adblocker still works...for now. It's like certain HD TV shows that don't automatically rescale and fit the screen. You get those black bars outside the picture. I rather like the crisp, clean look, just PLEASE continue the top banner's grass green (or some other color) all the way down to the brown bottom banner to tone down that white! Thanks!
