Why don't you post a photo of the sink/mirror wall now so we'll know if there is room for sconces or for a vanity strip. In my 5 x 7 gut/remodel I have a recessed round light over the tub and a three light fixture above the mirror and got both put on dimmers. Go to lightinguniverse.com to see great priced options for sconces and vanity lights above the mirror and you'll probably get inspired. The printed paper Restoration Hardware catalogs....get one from their store and see the bathroom photos of actual usage of these pivot mirrors and see what lighting they use in the model rooms. You can search on this forum for Inspiration Rooms and see what fixtures look like in those finished bathrooms.

Well I still haven't figured out the ceiling light. (and while I would love a fan like that -- it wouldnt work in my bathroom. but it is really really nice.) So aside from the ceiling lights, can we disuss the dreaded paint subject? The room gets tons of light. It is with my master bedroom which is painted a BM color from before they had names...(but hey it still looks great and I still like it.) it's a deep blue sort of similar to whipple blue? I just selected yosemite sand to paint the upstairs hall bathroom and it looks lovely. So any and all suggestions or revelations for me?

In response to questions/comments: kudzu9: There are areas of the grout that are missing, and the remainder has turned yellow. I would like to replace the missing grout and whiten the yellowed. We hope to rent out the home, so I don't trust tenants to wipe down painted walls. I'm hoping to find a complementary alternative. benjesbride: Unfortunately, the reason I have little budget now is that most of the original plumbing has to be redone. The drains are all old cast iron, and have degraded...there are lead pipes too. So, since they are replacing them, I figure that now would be the time to relocate. As far as paint on the shower walls, as I said above to kudzu9, we are planning to rent the home out and I worry about tenants taking the time to do that sort of maintenance. I want to go with something I don't have to worry about them taking care of. cpartist: Another retro vote! I'm coming around :) The grout is yellowed, and missing in a few areas. I'm hoping there is a way to bring it back to white. I agree with you, and everyone else, about the grab bars, as well as the shower head. And so glad to get another grey vote! We used B&W tile! I think they are called American Tile now- these are the 27S Aqua Satin. The website has their catalog of sizes- they carry a lot of sizes and shapes! We used them them for our green bathroom and we are doing a pink and aqua bathroom this summer- they have just the right shades of pastel!
