You will not be obsolete because you don't use plastic or electrronic payments. You'll just have a much hiigher chance of losing all your money than I do now. I was a non-plastic person for a very long time. Then I got robbed ten steps from the camera at the bank where I had just cashed my pay check. All the money for food for the family, rent, gas, to get to work for the next 2 weeks, the electric bill, all in one push down grab and snatch was gone. It was painful for me to listen to the police officer say there was very little hope of recovering any of the cash or my IDs, medication and personal things as well. We were helped by a food bank with one bag of food. One church turned me down for help because I made to much money. I sold my wedding ring set for way less than it was worth to take care of all the bills so My kids didn't have to be deprived of normal life. Now I carry very little cash and use the safe and secure debit/credit card for my bank account and direct deposit. The check can't get stolen/lost and if the card is, I can stop the thief from getting all my money by making one phone call. Yep plastic is safer and cleaner. On a good note if anyone wants to put In GOD I Trust on their card they can do so with custom cards now. CT

Castleton Mist is a lovely color and I think if you posted a photo of your kitchen painted with it, you'd get many ooohs and aaahs and votes of approval here on the board. But, that doesn't mean the color will be pleasing to you. You have hired a color consultant not just to suggest a color that works and would look good to a majority of homeowners, but to help you find a color that works for you. If she is well trained and has spent a certain amount of time getting to know and understand your relationship to color, then yes, you should trust her. But, trust and verify. I send out large color sheets of each color I suggest to my clients and usually send a couple variations on the theme for them to consider. She should be doing the same for you, IMO.

Things vary a lot ased on where you are located, but if $2000 isn't cheap, I tend to think you don't need a trust. I do remember that CA is different, but in TX, 3 out of 4 attorneys told me probate was easier and cheaper until your assets reach millions -- like 5 or 10. Make sure you are talking about a revocable living trust that allows you to be the trustee of your own estate while living (unless you become incapacitated). E revocable living trust becomes irrevocable (can't be changed) once you pass -- and it provides for how things will pass to your heirs -- the trusts' beneficiaries. I would expect your son to be a successor trustee (replaces you at death or incapacity) and do not understand having him as a third party manager while you are living. As long as you and your son agree on everything and he is completely honest and selfless -- thinking only about your needs first and foremost, it should be fine. But it sounds like a situation that could be abused and you'd be sunk and powerless to change it. You might want to travel and he might want a luxury car for himself. Be careful. I also don't understand the benefit of creating a trust for only some of your assets unless you have a lot of property -- and even then it seems that would be all the more reason to have everyting in a trust to get the full benefit. But talking to people on the internet and where you get replies from folks all over the country, the continent and abroad. You need local advise that is tailored to the laws of the state you live in, your level of assests, your living needs and your wishes when you are gone. You need to talk to people near you and more than one attorney. You should be able to get a free or minimal cost consultation -- at least 30 minutes to an hour for no charge to $100 or so -- and you could ask for that to aply to any further work you have them do. If you don't understand it for now and later and if it doesn't gie you independence as long as you are physically and mentally able, it doesn't sound like a good deal.

Thanks for those articles from me, too. The CDC still says to use bleach to disinfect, which is different than sanitize. They say that to disinfect hard, non-porous surfaces you need 1/3 cup of regular chlorine bleach per gallons of water, although Clorox recommends using 1/2 cup bleach per 1/2 gallon. For small batches, use 4 teaspoons of regular chlorine bleach and 1 quart of water. Dip a cloth into the mixture, wipe the surface, ALLOWING THE SOLUTION TO CONTACT THE SURFACE FOR 5 MINUTES AND AIR DRY. For food contact surfaces, like countertops and high chair trays, rinse with warm water and air dry after disinfecting. Use it sparingly on stainless steel sinks and surfaces. I use bleach regularly, I have all those white bar mops that I wash and bleach, I use them for everything. I also bleach the white socks and cotton gloves I use/wear on the farm, as well as wash cloths and some white towels. A person should NEVER have white towels on a farm, BTW. Anyway, I use enough that it's never outdated, and I leave it in the original opaque container. The biggest mistake people make, though, is to wipe their counters with the solution but not leave it the required 5 minutes before wiping the residue to dry their surfaces. If you don't do it correctly, it doesn't work correctly. Annie
