It doesn't just stop there, Tam. Apparently some people are getting hit with video ad's that they can't figure out how to close! I was having trouble with loading/abort error until I finally switched from IE to Mozilla Firefox. I highly recomend using Firefox and it is free. I don't have any of the problems I use to have navigating the garden web and pages load so much faster. I suggest you give it a try~you will not regret it.

I had to wait for an ad to go away befor I could even read what you posted. The frustrating part is there was no X to click it off...just had to wait. Then, there are the ones that pop up & run across the screen. What a pain in my BUTTOCKS!!!!!!

I use outlook, Norton and all kinds of cleaners. Trust me. I'm loaded here and although it gets the pop-ups and the like, I am still getting errors and locking up if I have to much going on.

I honestly don't mind the ads on the top and side of the page.. The "service" they offer here has to be paid some how. the pop up ones are very annoying. Do they think popping up is going to make us want to click it? nooo.. they hope we click by mistake.. Ads are a good thing.. just they should be realistic about it.. the double underline.. UGH.. AKA lets make every page load slower while it loads the "hotlinks".. If I want to know more about a word I'll look it up in a dictionary or do a google on it..
Does it make me want to pay to have the ads not show up? NO.. My budget is set.. and if it gets so annoying that I can't stand it I will probably find another place to find info on citrus.
My solution to some Spam.. I have set up a bogus e-mail account on my computer and set it as the "default" e-mail account. After doing that my Spam was cut in half..

I am glad they have this web site. I have learned so much here. Wish they would do something about the BS and keep the regular Ads.

The best spyware/adware removal program available is actually Microsoft's AntiSpyware (beta). I've been a user of Norton Internet Security, in addition to the top rated AdAware and Search & Destroy. Not only is the MS version better all-around, it's free. (And I'm generally disgusted with MS "innovations". But this one is that good.)

Tam the load time on this forum is getting real slow, and the adds are a real hassle, especially the ones that crawl across the screen. LOL.. I guess I'm too quick with a credit card. I paid for my version of AdAware.. And now it sits in my software archives.. Oh well.

I believe the paid version may give you a little more to work with, The only time I pay for software is when a new O.S. comes out, I believe MS is do to release Longhorn this fall or early next year, Havent been following it..

I think the paid version of ad-aware gives you the
"ad-watch" feature. It monitors activity as it occurs (instead of having to run it every time). It's a great feature.

Windows Vista (Longhorn's official name) will probably not be available to the public until late next year. I have worked with a beta version and it will be impressive. As dramatic a change as Windows 3.0 to Win95, I think.

You pretty much have to be a developer and subscribe to the Microsoft Developer Network (very expensive). Make no mistake, this OS is NOT ready for a production PC yet. There is a long way to go before it will be usable by most people.

Yes, and I have sent 4 emails to the Webmaster and Garden Web Members eddress. As of tonight, it seems to be much better. Every page has loaded fine whereas I was having as much as 50% fail to load before.

The script that highlights the keywords in the actual post is just too much IMO.
In fact, I think that may have been a big part of the problem, as I also do not see those any more. And good riddance.

Personally, I don't mind the adds, except the ones that waltz across the screen. I just picked my first crop of dates from my young palms this last 3 weeks. As they mature and produce more crop, I may even advertise here myself (I'm sold out so no, this isn't an add in disguise either : )

As a Registered Microsoft Developer, Solutions Provider, and Cert. NT, I have to disagree with the idea that Microsoft makes the best anything, ESPECIALLY Outlook and it's related products.
