Well I'm slowly getting back into things-- still haven't been cleared to drive tho or to go back on my RA meds. Am cooking 2-3 times a week & doing a bit of house work but tire VERY easily--

Everything seems to be healing up nicely ( Doc says he's seen better looking incisions on gutted deer tho the length is about the same).

My hgb, hct & platlets are almost back to normal but 2 walks around the outside of the house wipes me out. My poor flower beds look sooooo bad I hate walking around out there!

If it is ‘popcorn’ it scraped off easily and requires minimal repair to have a good looking ceiling. In my area most of the larger paint companies offer that as a service (so you don’t have to hire a Drywall company and a paint company). If it is texture- drywall mud that has been stamped, combed, or mopped on drywall is the better bet to hide it. Regarding asbestos, if your house is new (80’s on) asbestos won’t be a problem, older it’s wise to get it tested.

Roselee! Greetings! So good to see you are still posting along with some others. It's been so long.... I'm not actively gardening at the moment but was telling a friend about this site and thought I'd check in to say hi. I was a bit sad to discover that the whole site was no longer very active (with some exceptions). Do the old posts come up with key words placed in the search or how does one find them? I was recalling a post I'd made lamenting my terrible grasshopper issue which I believe included a discussion of chickens and chicken coops as a means of controlling the grasshoppers. I had come up with a design to surround the garden with a chicken run that acted as a protective barrier for the garden to help control grasshoppers and other insects, The runs would connect with a shed that would open on the front side to the garden (with a place for garden equipment, etc.), while the other two sides would house the chickens. I had included a drawing with the post and hoped to find it again in the archives. Anyone come across it? I wanted to show my friend who is thinking about doing both a garden and chickens on his five acre plot. What have you been up to in your garden?

As far as a choosing a pump, A 1/2 HP pump is fine for a 10K gallon pool. Variable speed pumps are nice and we do use them, but for this application the smaller pump will do the trick. The variable speed pumps carry an expensive up front cost. Sometimes systems are "over pumped" and on sand filters, the sand bed can get channeled prohibiting the filter's performance. We ran across a lot of pools built in the 60's whereas a sand filter(steel tanks) was either on ground or partially buried with a small pump mounted directly on top. The pump was a small horsepower and filtered at a slower rate, but enough to keep the pool's clarity-great concept. That slower concept though was pushed out in the 80's when manufacturers said bigger was better on pumps, when in fact it wasn't. The pool industry has come back full circle and sees the benefit of smaller pumps and lower flow rates with the ability to keep pools clean.

Listen to your body - when you are tired just flop down. Don't let it depress you. Right now your job isn't weeding the garden or cleaning the house. Your job right now is to mend and become well.

We're stronger than we think. Priorities change. Listen to your body and do what it says.

Seconding what has been said....just get well! I spent a year letting stuff go to hell in a handbasket while I did the chemo and radiation thing...
Next year is another time.

Diane, I am so happy to hear from you. You have been on my mind.

Forget about those gardens; they are saying goodbye for the winter anyway. That's what I love most about my gardens, no matter what, they always come back in the Spring and make my heart sing.

Diane, I'm happy to see you back and doing well. Don't rush that healing process, let it happen. As for the gardens, well, as Sharon pointed out, they're done anyway, they'll rest until next year.

Take care of yourself, don't overdo and you'll be cooking up a storm in no time.

I'm glad you are doing better, I have thought of you often.
Don't worry about the flower beds. We were gone most of March and I have been behind this year. I am to the point that it is going to freeze and that will take care of the weeds and such and hopefully I can start again next spring.

Just take care of yourself.
