Skype is easy to copy and save. Place the cursor in front of the needed text, hold down the left mouse button and drag to highlight the quote needed. Release and right click on the highlighted text and click Save.

Open your word processing program, right click in the text area and click Paste. You will need to remove the bit in front of each article you save in this way.

I think you can use the smartphone method of copy and paste to save text messages, once copied select the share button and choose your email and paste into an email to your self.
I don't text, but you might see in the options if there is one to share from the actual text if so that makes it easier, just select that and share as I mentioned above.

Okay i just checked my phone, if you go to the text message and click on the more options there is an option to forward the message, you can do that to your email address then just print it from there.
My phone is android.

I just did this, I went to the text message held down on the beginning of the message till the copy brackets appeared then hi lighted all, then clicked on the share via icon, selected my email and it pasted it right in, I sent it to myself.
There's probably easier ways but that gets it done.

Hi. I can't believe I didn't think about copying and pasting the skype messages. As my daughter might say, "Duh!"

As for the text messaging, we'll give Raven's ideas a try. Her cell phone is not a smartphone - no internet - so I"m not sure she can send emails from it - but we'll check.

Anybody know about hooking it up to a computer via USB? and transferring?

If you just need to save/print out text message.You can do simple screen capture? Simultaneously press 'power' and
'volume down' buttons to capture the screen. Then, you can save or share the
image, or even print it out if you really want a paper copy for some reason.

She, or they, can tell skype to save the history LOCALLY for as long as they want

To change your history settings:

1. Sign in to Skype.
2. From the menu bar, select Skype > Privacy....
3. Below Keep history for, click the drop-down list and select the amount of time you’d like your history to be saved for. You can select forever, three months, one month, two weeks or no history.
