Removing Ashampoo

My friend uses Ashampoo as her firewall and recently uninstalled AVG (used Revo uninstaller, followed up with a thorough Revouninstaller scan to remove remnants it found, and then used the AVG removal tool. Also did a search for AVG files - found 8 files in Prefetch - and removed them.)

Has now installed Avast and registered. However, Avast will not update. It starts but balks at/after servers.def.vpc and then says it can't find the server.

Googling shows that others have had this same problem and it is a bug in Ashampoo.

The plan is to remove Ashampoo and replace with Zone Alarm Free. I have both on my computer and have had no problem. Will Revouninstaller do a good enough job of removing Ashampoo or is there a special removal tool. I searched and it seems that what comes up for "uninstall Ashampoo" is a general uninstaller program like Revouninstaller.

Thanks for your input - June
