HP 960C Help

I have a HP 960C printer. Can anyone tell me how I can tell how much ink is in the cartridges before I start printing colored pages?

On the START Menu there should be an entry entitled HP Solution Center. Activate the application. You might have to make a second selection from an appearing drop down menu. Once the Center appears, there should be a visible pointer to the ink status, or under options, tools, etc.

Try unplugging the power from the printer, then plug it back in, maybe that will give it a fresh start. At least that is what I do when printers give me a problem. They seem to have a mind of their own and get confused very easily as to what they are supposed to be doing.

Sounds like your chain and the limits are out of sync. Take the chain off the sprocket over the motor and run the opener until the sprocket has turned counterclockwise and stopped. With the door open reinstall the chain. Everything should be back in sync but you may have to tweak the up and down limits a bit. The chain coming off the sprocket is not a normal problem by any means. It is usually caused by the bearings around the shaft the sprocket is attached too being bad. You have a really old opener and now may be the time to upgrade to the safer models.

1, My only experience with growing under lights is peppers. Ive grown them under lower wattage HPS and MH, and they both produced well. HPS produced taller plants with washed-out looking leaves. MH seemed to make them grow more compact, and the leaves kept a nicer green color - similar to fluorescent. 2. the more the better, whatever you can afford bulb wise and electricity wise. If you're just trying to overwinter and not actively grow, i would think the 600w might be sufficient. depends on the spread and density of the leaves of your particular plants. 3. dont really have any experience with this, but the fan option sounds better to me. The closer the light to the plants, the better.

Even if out of the service period, I would call HP and complain. HP sometimes does things differently than other PC manufacturers and often in a not-optimal way. Fun2be, I hope you get this annoyance sorted out. (I bought my last HP PC about 15 years ago and after a few years of needlessly struggling with it, I swore it would be the last HP product I would buy. I've kept that promise to myself. It was awful and cantankerous in unnecessary ways. I had issues with it I'd never had before and have never had since.)

Thanks DA. I found the ToolBox. I now have a problem because the ToolBox has my HP PhotoSmart 3200 Series printer on it. Is there anyway I can change printers within the ToolBox so it serves both?

Two questions before we go any farther,

Do you still have the disk for the 3200?

Did you use the 960C disk when you installed the printer, and do you still have it?

I do have both disks. As to your question about did I use the 960C disk when I installed the printer, my grandson who is computer savy having worked for a computer firm has since moved to Qatar boardering Saudi Arabia installed my new system when he was home for a short visit. I have since read that Windows 7 recognizes all printers unlike other operating systems so I suspect that is what happened rather than using the disk. But I am willing to try anything to be able to see the level of ink in the 960.

The Solution Center can be removed by using the disk for the 3200. The link below will share the bad news regarding the limited functionality of the 960c on W7.
