Help. TMP Update for HP Spectre 360

I keep getting a message on my laptop that I need to update the TMP, but when I go to the HP website and download the update, I am unable to change my BIOS. Here is the error message I see:

I've tried to find a solution at HP community, but have been unsuccessful. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Did you try simply googling the error message? These results should give you some ideas how to resolve. The very first link has few ways that people have resolved it.

Even if out of the service period, I would call HP and complain. HP sometimes does things differently than other PC manufacturers and often in a not-optimal way. Fun2be, I hope you get this annoyance sorted out.

(I bought my last HP PC about 15 years ago and after a few years of needlessly struggling with it, I swore it would be the last HP product I would buy. I've kept that promise to myself. It was awful and cantankerous in unnecessary ways. I had issues with it I'd never had before and have never had since.)

I think you are right "trying" to keep the see saw balanced using an hourly exchange instead of "$ per hour". I would opine that if he spends 4 hours working on your car (for example) you spend 4 hours of your time working on his problem (should that ever happen). The rates of pay, or fees, or charges, or whatever you want to call it.....are largely subjective (to all kinds of marketing pressures/factors) and are really just somebody's opinion of what the traffic should pay. But as you stated, 4 hours (of someone's finite lifetime) spent for your benefit is 4 hours they could have spent doing something for themselves instead. So, if the scales would ever be balanced, it would have to be in "raw time", not some arbitrary $ amount. The tougher (for me) aspect of bartering time is trying to categorize persons that I might be "bartering with". Some persons are simply enjoyable to be around, no matter what I'm doing for them (or they are doing for me) and I place a higher value on the mutual friendship than could ever be expressed in monetary terms. Realistically speaking, this subject is much deeper and complex than what can be addressed in brief. The subject almost always has some factors rooted in benevolence, and even "familial altruism" (when it comes to relatives and in-laws/outlaws.

If you have a multi-user subscription, you should be able to load it onto other computers at any time during the period of the subscription, and the clock starts ticking when you load the first one on. I have a 3-user subscription to Norton anti-virus and I loaded one right away, and another 6 months later. However, I have the disc. Since you downloaded yours, did you save the program on the first computer? If so, you could make a copy on a flash drive, and plug that into your netbook and install it. If you don't have that option, you should go go the Symantec web site. When you put the program on the first computer, there is typically a registration step that establishes an account at Symantec. Each time the program is installed and registered, the registration process takes you to the web site and the number of program installs is kept track of in your account. If you log into this account right now, it should show that you have two installs left of what you bought. If you don't have the program, and/or you can't remember how to get into your account (or can't retrieve the info), call Symantec tech support and explain the problem and they should be able to walk you through this. It would probably be helpful if you had your online receipt of the purchase handy when you do this.

You can find tons of stuff on the Internet by googling rain water collection, rainwater harvesting, etc. Here are some useful links. Watch the UTube series from Texas A&M Extension agent Billy Kniffen. He just happened to go to HS with us, never put more than two words together in that time. This is a neighbor's 20kgallon tank but ours looks like this. The big plastic looking tanks probably are not spec'ed for drinking water. But of course one can harvest rain water for other reasons than using it for your water system. I would also add a word of caution. If you don't want to be actively involved in your water system, it's not for you. We have to clean the filter to the tank after each rain. We have to clean our filters and will at some point have to replace the UV light. Some filters have to be replaced several times a year. You become the city water system for your home. It's not a lot of work, or hard work, but if you don't do it, it hurts your family. If your gutters catch a lot of debris, you would need to screen them or be ready to have a first wash system and tend to that. Hi, we have similar situation to research. We are looking into upgrading our HVAC and have question as to go with Heat Pump with Electric or Oil backup. Background: Central Massachusetts, 20 year old house, 3000sqft typical two story colonial with central forced hot air oil furnace and AC. Currently 5ton AC and heating with 80% efficient and I think 110000BTU oil furnace. Which might be more than necessary. No natural gas available. Oil or Propane. 200Amp main panel. Electric rates are about 11.39cents per KWH. Oil rates are about $4.00 dollars per gallon. AC is only two months or so, heating is more important. So we are thinking of choosing a low temperature Heat Pump with good HSFP, SEER is less important. Questions: We were wondering if for the price of electric and oil if we can move to electric as backup in this area (New England). Would there also be any re-sale issues later too? Our dealer is also recommending Byrant 280A 5 Ton low temperature with 20KW, which we might request to bump up to the three stage 24KW heat strips because we keep warm temperature (70F). I actually use a spectre pro 360 for work (typing on it right now), and *knock on wood*, it's been trouble free for the 6 months I've had it. Much fewer issues than my counterparts with MS Surface's. I build my own pc's, but i would consider them for a laptop/convertible tablet in the future if I had the need to buy one.

My employer has a large laptop user base, tens of thousands, and they're acquired with two or three year leases (I forget which). The IT gurus decided to discontinue buying HP laptops about a dozen years ago because of quality issues and usage problems. ThinkPads and the Apple equivalents became the preferred choices. I've since retired and don't know if they've given them another chance or not but the HP user problem/rejection rate was large and not just over one year's models.
