When you hide your desktop icons to enjoy the wallpaper you still have access (better access in my opinion) by clicking the 2 small right facing chevrons just to the left of your clock on the taskbar. Icons cluttering up the desktop require the user to iconise any open window for them to be used, using the chevrons you need close no window.

Pam I am sure there is a way but I no longer have sunbird so I can not check to see, there may be an import option like there is for firefox to import all your faves and settings, hopefully someone that uses sunbird can jump in and help. there is a specific forum for sunbird you could definitely ask there and get people that know how to use it. what you want to do is sync your existing sunbird calendar with the new sunbird you just installed. There is a question similar to that on the forum now but has not been answered yet. according to this article there is a method to import and export the calendar items. Is you computer trying to open all the programs of the icons? Where is the highlighting? I had all my icons get highlighted and start to open because my shift (I think it was shift, or something like that), key was stuck down. It wasn't stuck literally, but it was stuck from an internal/interface perspective, since I spilled coffee on my keyboard and it really messed it up as far as the way the keys worked. Could it be a keyboard issue like mine was? Or maybe a mouse interface issue? I dunno, because the "black" description seems confusing.
