My new Vitamin Challenge

Remember the Vitamin B-12 issue I had and challenged everyone to get their B-12 levels checked, as alot of times docs will not check if there is no anemia, but you can have a deficiency even if you are not anemic.

Anyway, new soap box, new vitamin. Vitamin D. DD had been having headaches like crazy, some almost migrain status, plus she was always fatigued. MRI was negative, but they checked her Vitamin D level which was 17.5. The low end of the range used to be 25, but now there is new research that says it should be closer to 50. I also heard that a good Vitamin D level helps in the defense of H1N1. DD was prescribed 50,000 IUs weekly for 2 months due to her low level and it has helped her immensely with the headaches and the fatigue. Now she only takes 1,000 IU's daily, which is daily recommend amount, but take into consideration any other Vit D you are taking, especially in calcium supplements.
