It is unfortunate you are having this problem. Saying this has a design problem isn't really giving it its due. French door refrigerators are designed with the freezer on the bottom. Too dispense ice through the door is impossible with this design due to physics. The freezer is lower than the dispenser. To overcome this obstacle Kitchen Aid has placed an ice-maker separate from the freezer towards the top of the refrigerator and gravity does the rest. Two separate freezing units inside one refrigerator. More parts means more can go wrong. IMHO quality and technology have a ways to go with dispensing french door refrigerators.

Ok, here's a recap: Bidding showed at $46 yesterday. I came in and bid $100 which immediately brought the showing bid to $93, presumably a dollar more than the other bidder's max. I raised my bid to $200, thinking that was a safe bid for what I thought was a top of the line KA. Not realizing it was 475W, not 575W. The other bidder tried to feel me out by raising their bid a few dollars at a time over dozens of bids, and apparently gave up at $187.50. So now it showed me as the winner at $188.50. Next I wrote to the seller, explaining the wattage mix-up, and offered to buy my way out of my commitment should I win. She very kindly removed my bids, a power that I didn't know she had. So now the highest bid needed to win it is $46. And that's why it looks like the other bidder bid the same amount dozens of times. It's all due to my idiocy and the seller's courtesy. Truth be told, if it had been a 575W then I think it would have been a great deal at $188.50 and I would have been happy paying it. At 475 maybe $188.50 is still a great deal, or at least a good deal, maybe it's not. I don't know. Actually probably it is, because my 325W Artisan costs more than that. At this point I just hope that the darn thing sells for an amount that makes both the buyer and the seller happy.

Thanks to you rhizo, I have made a conscious effort to brink actual water!.I had my coffee as usual (decaf) but made sure to measure out 4 oz of water for my supplements. Coffee is considered half. So, that is one glass. The I had a cup of tea mid morning. With lunch I had a glass of water. I never do this! I'm going to do a half hour on my lifecycle, and will bring down a glass of water. From what my eye doctor has told me (I have dry eyes) you are suppose to drink the after gradually. It needs to have a chance to absorb, so downing it in a hurry really doesn't produce the desired effect. i still don't understand how people drink 8 glasses a day.

I live in Florida and am now experiencing the same nightmare as this person did. I bought two brand new houses by the same builder who put in KitchenAid appliances. Not only has my own Kitchenaid Frig failed but also my rental next door. A friend who bought from the same builder has so far had a failed dishwasher and Frig. I will agree with you that Kitchenaid warranty center is just worthless as all they do is recite a script of how sorry they are the appliance is broken and we will send a tech out to fix...in a week. But their only authorized repair company Flamingo Appliance repair must hire some real special people because the same tech kept calling me claiming he would not come out because ticket information from Kitchenaid was missing. Or I had to be there to pay him. This went on for two weeks with first a call to worthless Kitchenaid always on hold or disconnected service where another ticket would be created and Flamingo would be dispatched out to repair. Second then I would get a call from their brain dead tech who refused to listen to me as the customer and just kept repeating he would not come out because the ticket did not contain who would pay for it. By my fourth call back to Kitchenaid I asked that they give me a supervisor to escalate the issue with Flamingo and the warranty person said "No all we can do is create a new ticket". Terrible customer service on both sides. The tech finally shows up after we sent them a note on FB and claimed the filtered water and ice maker issue was resolved. Only to find out 30 minutes it was not and again the scramble with Flamingo to contact the tech to go back to the house to resolve. Flamingo said well all we can do "is schedule another visit" if he does not call us. Maddening and terrible service.
