Love This Forum-PDF File Problem

Just a big thank you for your constant help on this forum. Never ceases to amaze me!

I have been having problems opening PDF files for about two weeks. Tonight I searched the Computer Help Forum and found the exact problem and how it was solved by deleting Adobe Reader and installing Foxit Reader. It worked and I was so excited.

So neat to have so much information all in one spot!

And who share advice and programs to install.

Thanks from me also. I probably will be asking more questions about Vista as I go along. I am glad that my Vista Laptop is only for games and movies (traveling) or I would be in big trouble. I don't have one family member or friend to discuss computers with and I really hate that.

a really easy way to handle that is to simply convert it from a pdf to a format you are more familiar with and can work with such as a word doc or excel or something like that. There are some good free online converters and this one will even let you do the pictures just pay attention to what you select as to what to convert and what to convert it to. Convert PDF to Word (doc) or Excel (xls) document, extract Images from PDF Free Online PDF to Word Conversions this one only does conversion to word and will give it to you there with out having to email it to you. I also use zamzar and this may help you also How to convert a PDF file to Word, Excel or JPG format explains how to use zamzar etc.

there are many really good useful screen capture free programs out there, bobs link to those at gizmo provides several of the top choices. Many have the editing stuff all built in to them. On my linux I have one called ksnapshot which is so easy to use wish they had just that item for windows. On windows I have used a few including the gadwin program and I have used this one Screenpresso logo and the picpick one mentioned at the gizmo site. I had no idea the pdf select tool would not work on some items. That is strange. on the ones y'all tried it on had you actually saved the pdf file to your pc or were you viewing the pdf file from the online site? just wondering if that would make any difference. I have never encountered that problem.

Hey Anne-Marie, good to hear from you again, and welcome back! I am always cheered to learn that folks have managed to find GW again, after the move to Houzz. Your lovely greenhouse is burned into my memory. I know many here would really enjoy seeing photos of your greenhouse now (can't imagine how you could have improved it, though?) Hope you find time to do an update for us. I went digging back through threads to find photos of your greenhouse. I hope you don't mind if I post a link here to your thread that started in 2007 (and lived on!) I bet we have new members here who haven't seen it: Some Greenhouse Photos - Wyndyacre 2007 I think about the above thread every time I look at my overcrowded greenhouse. I really should work up my courage and energy to thin out the kids and do a plant sale. I always admired your ability to do so. Maybe your popping in here again can get me inspired...well, um, probably not.
