I use Mozilla and get the redirect. If an advertiser on our company site has a scam ad I know how to pull it and I have limited technical knowledge. Its not like I use anti-virus programs to let me browse porn sites with spyware. I find others. Garden Web is getting reported. This is the email I sent to complain. "The Tree forum has apparently been infested by a virus where it attempts to auto-redirect users to a third party site. I found "as.suitesmart.com" as the destination my browser lists at the bottom. I'm reporting them and I suppose unintentionally the Tree Forum as well to Google's suspicious activity list and the FTC (http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/contact.shtm). If anything goes wrong with any of my banking passwords or anything gets installed I don't want I'll be forwarding their information to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) (http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx). well those toolbars come with many many programs if you do not read carefully when doing installs or updates including java, flash, and IE, many of them, in fact there is a hall of shame at COU forum listing all of the programs that now include pre selected toolbars in their install, it has nothing to do with the browser you use to do the download or install it has to do with watching what is pre checked when doing your updates or program installs and un checking any for things like toolbars. I have had to clean tons of toolbars off of peoples computers too who had never heard of firefox, only had IE. I tell people to add a second browser because it is a very good idea to always have at least 2 on the pc because as we all know IE can and does fail then leaving them no way to access the internet. Whether they select firefox, chrome or opera, it does not matter but firefox is the best known so when asking for help they will find more people that are familiar with it. All browsers have their pluses and minuses none are perfect and I have never seen anyone here say any one browser is perfect. the point to make to people who have loaded up their pc with toolbars, why this is happening to them, is to watch what they are doing! Pay attention to every single line when doing any type of install. And do not let it add unwanted items, if they are not told how it happened it will happen again. PK, yes there is a lot of junk on it. I google the ones I don't recognize and the ones that make you set up an account and delete them. I won't even set up an MS account the only reason I didn't have to...to use the new PC is because for some reason it didn't connect to the wifi. It told me to set up a local which of course made me use a password. The local couldn't connect either, but something told me to push the button on my router or use the key #. The button on the router did the trick. I also found a way to bypass the password. I was locked out of my PC a few years ago because the password wouldn't work and it was the right password. I love the laptop and it is really, really fast. I thought my desktop was fast but it's nothing compared to this one, especially on start up. About W 8: One of the reason I bought the laptop/tablet was because I wanted to see what the new OS was like. As I said above, I downloaded the shell because I couldn't even find away to turn it off. LOL After I set up my security and updated I went back to W 8. Now I found a way to flip back and forth between the shell and W 8 start screen and I worked on it for a bit. FF says you can't pin a site on W 8 system yet but I did manage to pin this one but it just shows up as the blank white page with the words "web site" below. I won't use it, I just use the desktop icon to take me to what I need. I am enjoying it but I still like the old fashioned desktop so I can play with the wallpaper. It really makes me angry to buy a PC then are forced to tie your self to services like MS just to use the thing. Sorry this is so long.

Especially not when it's not even working properly. :) --------------------------------------- If you give up on Adblock Plus(not saying you should just yet), but if you do, you might try "Ublock Origin": https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/ I've always used Adblock Plus and love it but recently(because of a security video I watched) decided to test Ublock Origin. It uses the same "Easylist" filter subscription as "Adblock Plus" and a couple others. Seems to work fine. If you do decide to try it, remove disable(or remove) Adblock Plus first, else it might slow your browser down.
