The finishes are mostly fine. For a black accent strip, just use the shower floor tile. I don't think that faux travertine "works" with the black and the wood. . You've already got a lot of finishes here. I'd think about doing the shower walls in the wood tile, and just add additional lighting to deal with the darker finishes. Or use granite tile the same as the vanity granite. The layout isn't fine, though. Opening the door straight to the toilet is unappealing, and the toilet stall isn't large enough. It needs to be 36" wide. If the door swing was the other way, at least you wouldn't see the toilet first thing when you opened the door, but the too small size of the alcove problem still remains. Also, swapping the toilet and shower locations will involve quite a bit of plumbing redo. It would be cheaper to modify the existing shower by annexing space from somewhere else than it would be to swap the two.

I may have discovered a bug in the new software. I was baking last night and selected Surround Bake. I set the temperature to 400°F and it showed "Preheating 250°F". At this point I changed my mind and hit cancel, opting instead for a Standard Bake at 400°F. After selecting standard bake and inputting the temp, it stopped showing "Preheating..." and the oven acted as though it was at full temperature when it wasn't. The bottom element clicked on and off as it would if it had achieved temp. After about 15 minutes of this activity, I opened the oven and thought no way is it 400°F. I canceled the Bake mode and selected Surround Convection at 400°. Now the oven showed "Preheating 250°F" like it did originally, but switching back to Bake again killed the preheat cycle. Going back to Surround Convection, I got the preheat indication again. Switching to Pure Convection the preheat designation disappeared again. There seems to be a problem with the programming logic. Unless you leave it in the initial mode selected fully through the end of preheat, the oven seems to get confused. This could be the reason why some folks have said that the oven is 50-100° off, or that things take forever to bake. Does anyone know of a way to "reboot" the computer without running outside the flip the circuit breaker?

I like the room as is. You could change up accessories and art if you're looking to freshen up. I should mention I like color and contrast. My first thought about a sisal rug is it could blend too much with your furniture. If you were keeping the braided rug (sounds like you're taking it up) my first thought was a pale blue or pale green gray paint like how the photo Onedogedie posted looks on my monitor. I also really like the rooms Oaktown posted (first set). I like your furniture, horse pic, and the ironstone! Are you honestly tired of your braided rug? Whatever you end up with, just remember to be true to your style. You could also take up the rug for now and maybe just use it in the winter months to change it up. It's very nice looking. I'd take the rug up and see how you feel and consider painting going the painting direction first since it's cheaper than a new rug.

I have the basic Roku.. have had it for (probably close to 10?) years and it works fine. That said, when I replace my tv one of these days, I'll update my streaming device also. I prefer Roku to apple tv and amazon fire because it will also stream Acorn.tv and Spotify. Yes, you will need to have a streaming device on each tv. I don't know that you need the super processing power of the ultra for old classic movies which aren't in high definition. I would think you'd be fine with a premier even the model below that. I am not an expert on these things though. I just know that my original Roku is running fine. I am surprised that you found a 4k tv that isn't a smart tv with either Roku or some other proprietary streaming software installed.
