replacing old toilet, wall-mounted tank
Comments (2)You could replace with your toilet with one for a 14" rough in. Either don't worry about the remaining gap to the wall, or set a piece of marble or something on top, or maybe install a filler piece of trim across the gap. Or you could just repair the existing toilet. (If it's flushing slow, maybe you just need to poke the holes under the rim open with a piece of stiff wire.)...See MoreWall-hung toilet: Yay or nay?
Comments (21)I put one in our first floor powder room when we remodeled. DH did the work so I got a deal :-). I love the ease of cleaning - getting too old to get down on my hand and knees and wipe all the nooks and crannies. Planning to add one to the master bath too if that project ever gets off the ground. Only thing I don't like is our Toto wall hung - Maris. The water spot is too small and hard to hit. You know what I mean. I would order the Toto Aquia the next time and hope it doesn't have the same issue. We used the Geberit carrier....See MoreWall-hung toilet in a brick wall
Comments (10)I was thinking about making 2 layers of brick wall (my contractor says each will be 15cm) to hide the tank and pipes. So definitely it will be the opposite of space-saving. But it does help when I insist on sloping the whole bathroom floor. The reason I want to slope the whole bathroom floor is because I never feel that wiping the toilet with disinfectant is enough. I want to be able to wash it and the floor around it completely because, you know, boys urinate there too. I’m just wondering if there are more maintenance consequences with this type of toilet, whether the gasket will wear faster or whether it will leak more. Also, since the tank and pipes will be sandwiched between two brick walls, do I need to create a large panel just in case they need repairs one day? Or is the flush panel enough?...See MoreAlternative actuator faceplate for Kohler Veil wall-hung toilet?
