I usually check my AVG test result every day, but of course, I didnÂt check it Friday or Saturday, so this afternoon, when I did check it, I saw that there had been three threats found during Friday morningÂs scan. Two files were put in the Virus Vault by AVG.
When I checked the details of the files, hereÂs what I found.
Object Name: base_getstarted.exe
Object Path: C:\ProgramFiles\Intuit\Quickbooks2005\Atom\
Discovery: Trojan Horse SHeur.AFJ
Source Computer: D6GNVF81
Finder: SYSTEM
File Size: 2.26 MB
Healable: No
Source: Backup Copy
Status: Infected
All the information for the second file was the same except the Object Name was start.exe. I never could find the third threat listed, but SaturdayÂs and Sundays scans came up clean, and I have had not problems with my computer.
Would the Trojan Horse have been activated, if I had opened Quickbooks without the files having been quarantined? I never use it, so can I just delete the infected files from the Virus Vault and be done with it, or should I also delete Quickbooks? IÂve never had a TH before, so I want to do this right. In short, step by step, what should I do? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
