Kevin, Can you tell me 2 things about your vanity? What is the open dimensions of the sinks? (width and front to back)? And, what is the width of the under sink cabinet portion (the part directly under the sink). Thanks! I'm planning 2 60" double vanities (for 2 bathrooms) and want to make sure I have right size cabinets and sinks.

We actually have one unit in the ceiling above the toilet that has a fan and light built in...we might get a new nicer-looking unit to replace the old one but that should be an easy upgrade. "I like that last setup you showed." Me too, but I'm still not sure whether to go with a barn door or pocket door. I think barn door has the advantage of an easier installation, but a pocket door probably could be installed leaving more room in the toilet closet. A barn door would probably look cleaner from outside the toilet closet, since you wouldn't see the hardware or the door when opened. "It would be nice to have the toilet centered in that space, but if you can keep the center of the toilet 18 inches from the sliding glass door on the wall, you should be fine." That's my worry...the toilet is currently offset slightly closer to the closet...it is about 19" from the center of the toilet to that wall, and 22" to the other wall. With a barn door installed there I imagine we wouldn't keep 18" unless we shift over the toilet. I don't know yet how expensive that would be. A smoked glass insert across from the toilet as in that pic might be the way to go. Then I still have the question of whether that wall should be flush with the window recess or set in a little. I'm thinking maybe flush with the window would be best to leave as much depth as possible for the toilet closet, and fewer edges/angles on the other side of the wall outside of the toilet closet. Southernfrenchie - Thank you! Very pretty space and those curtains look wonderful with that paint! I finally went to Lowes yesterday and grabbed paint cards of: LA Russet 6 LA Summer Pudding Waverly Tomato Red Waverly Cinnabar Eddie Bauer Crimson Glidden Terra Cotta Rose. I grabbed a few actual samples from comparing my BM paint cards and going by what I knew of the colors. Ha, when I got home I realized I grabbed such similar colors it's not even funny. Waverly Tomato Red looks like BM Burnt Peanut Red and similar to Raspberry Truffle. Glidden Terra Cotta Rose looks like the color name and is similar to BM Tucson Red. The color would work but it's not how I'm picturing the room. LA Russet 6 is a nice color. Similar to Currant Red. The other names above, the cards look very similar to ones I already have. I'm finally at my point of walking away for now. In the end I'll probably end up going with MR or CR. And just for giggles.. MR top, LA Russet 6 middle, CR bottom.

I'm assuming from what the OP said that they don't want or need hall access to a bathroom that one of the bedrooms isn't going to be used as a bedroom. I also LOL at how home builders are so overspecific in naming the rooms on their floorplans. Like everyone wants a game room in the middle of all the bedrooms and home office, just the thing to ensure a good night's rest or undistracted working at a desk. One small item I find really irksome in this floorplan: the door to the master bathroom toilet room is ideally positioned to (a) block the entry from the bedroom when open, which it assumedly would be when not in use, and (b) whack the person using the sink when unexpectedly opened from inside. Also, that door to the upper left bedroom is a weird one. Perhaps to keep it from blocking access to the J&J bathroom when open, it's hinged on what would otherwise be the wrong side. As it is, especially since the bedroom closet extends further than the door opening, the door must be opened an awkward 180 degrees to enter the bedroom from the hallway.
