Bain Ultra-does the water stay warm

We are considering putting a bain ultra Amma 7242 in our bathroom. My husband wants the water to be hot and stay that way. Does anyone have any experience with how well these tubs hold the water temperature? It says it offers thermomassage, but no one seems to know how warm you can keep the water.

My Bain Ultra isn't installed yet but from what I read before ordering it, there is an issue (as with other acrylic air tubs) of the water staying hot. Owners say they need to add hot water. I guess it depends on how long you stay in the tub and how well insulated underneath it is. For me, I'd rather deal with adding some hot water than the issues of having a water jetted tub.

Mine doesn't stay hot for long. It draws the cool air from the room. Radiant floor heating might make a difference. If I'm in there a while I do add hot water.........Karen

The fact is laws of physics cannot be changed, and when you blow hot air into water it will cool it down no matter what brand of tub it is. Now Bain Ultra was the original air tub, their service is top notch, their parts and materials are top notch, and their design has only the bather in mind. Kohler is not a bad alternative, but all things being equal Bain Ultra all the way. Hope this helps.

Deb, That looks like a perfect fit! Am just seeing this pic today, think I read your reply via email, and the pics don't show that way. Are you sure the tub is only 60" long? My catalogue says the Azur55 is 66" long. I think I have changed my mind for the last time, and have settled on the Thalassa55. It is a little bit narrower, ie 33" vs 36" than the Oval Plus model I was considering, and actually gives me another inch of bathing depth, though tubs are the same height. (It's also $1000 cheaper, and I got my plumbing supply place to bring their original quote by another $800, so I'm much more comfortable with the purchase.) I definitely will get the Geysair. Though listed at $399, was able to get it down to $303. I would love to know how much wiggle room there actually is. I really don't like having to ask for lower prices. I just want others to know that even here in Canada, we can negotiate the Bain list price down.

Hi, Just wanted to say we installed a drop in Bain Ultra in our master bath after much trepidation about having another jet tub after a jacuzzi, etc. etc. Well, we couldn't be happier with the air jets and all the settings. I believe our model is the 'Amma' 72". I use it almost every day. I even do my stretching exercises while the jets are on. If you have sore muscles or arthritis I think you will find the bubbling most effective to ease the pain and loosen joints. We had our motor installed in a closet about 8 feet from the tub and it works fine. I also want to say be sure to shop around. I found a price difference of a couple thousand from dealer to dealer. Another thing--if you are doing a marble or tile surround you may want to consider the version that has a quartz (I think) surround already built in. I think I would try to use that model next time to save some time and money. We have recommended Bain Ultra to several of our friends.

We have a similar size Bain Ultra. It is a great tub. It is so large it drains the hot water tank. I should have gone tankless. The tub does not stay hot for extended soaks. I don't imagine any other air or jetted tub would either. I think I remember some form of heater that can be put in the air line to heat the air. This may help, but I didn't get that option. You can also have a heated back rest. That would be great, but I didn't do that either. Actually, I thought mine had that option, but I was wrong. I would buy the tub again. I really enjoy the air tub. I like it much better than any jetted tub I have ever used.
