The only way I have found to access clipart is through my Word Program....it was so easy and nice with Windows 98, but a few more steps for XP...it's till there, though, and you can organize and save clips...now this might just be me (could very well be) but if I want to use a clip in something other than my scrapbooking (which I do from Word)...for instance if I want to use it in Outlook Express, I e-mail it to myself. Then, "save as" and put it in a clipart folder. You can also use Outlook Express to e-mail directly from Word and that works well also...

Hi ravencajun, I found this from one of your sites that you posted. Microsoft said this "When you use the Windows Update Web site or the Microsoft Update Web site to check for and install updates, you may receive one of the errors that are listed in the "Symptoms" section. Important In most cases, these messages are temporary or short-lived issues that are caused by very slight interruptions in communications between the computer that is being updated and the Windows update servers. These issues are generally self-healing. So, before you try the troubleshooting methods in this article, please exit the Windows Update site, wait 10 to 15 minutes, start Windows Update again, and then check for updates. You can also let Windows Automatic Update install the updates on its usual 24-hour cycle. Note These errors can occur even if no changes have been made to network settings" Then I found this one: Resolutions 1. A misconfigured Proxy/Firewall can cause this problem. Double-check the Proxy/Firewall settings. Add the following urls to the exception list within your Firewall/Proxy: http://*.update.microsoft.com https://*.update.microsoft.com http://download.windowsupdate.com For help configuring Proxy/Firewall refer to documentation or contact the manufacturer. My question is: What is a Proxy/Firewall? I just recently downloaded Norton Antivirus 2009 and I understand that it has an inbound firewall. When I went to My security center it shows that the Windows Firewall is on. I shut it off and when I did the red shield with an X in the middle of it(Windows Security Alert) showed up on my taskbar. I can't find anywhere where it says on the box that Norton Antivirus 2009 has a firewall. But I read on another forum that this particular version does have a firewall inbound only. This is very confusing. If I do have a firewall from Norton then I need to shut off the Windows Firewall right? If so then how do I get rid of that red shield with the X in the middle of it? Finally I will let you know that everything is back to normal and I am thinking maybe it was their site? Not sure though. thirdfrt!!! I've gotten similar calls. Both times it was a voice with a very heavy Indian accent and with boiler room sounds in the background. He said that he was calling from Microsoft's Security Department. I said both times that they were wasting their time trying to scam me and they hung up. It's obviously an internet call, but they use a falsified caller ID (the number was non-existent when I tried to call back). I don't think you need to worry about anything sinister going on. Many phone numbers, when calling internationally, have 11 digits. US numbers have 11,

To simplify things for you I have copied a fix that I found at Kellys Korner which is a genuine and highly regarded source of tips and fixes for all sorts of problems. Number 255 on the right hand side of the page is labelled "My Documents Folder Opens Upon Boot (for C:\)" and gives the code that I have copied below. It is a Registry Patch that simply puts the correct value back where it belongs. Open Notepad on your computer then copy and paste the text into it and save the file as USERINIT.REG - that's USERINIT dot REG Now double click it and answer yes to the import prompt. Incidentally, REG files can be viewed in Notepad by right clicking on the file and selecting Edit. Colin Copy and paste everything below this line into Notepad: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "Userinit"="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\userinit.exe," [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced] "PersistBrowsers"=dword:00000000 Here is a link that might be useful: Kellys Korner
