Firefox update?

Just checked for updates and 3.0.11 is available...has anyone had any problems with this version? Any bugs to worry about?

3.5 was released in June. No problems for me so far.

I recently read about a vulnerability in FF 3.5 (see link). Looks like Mozilla plans to have it fixed and issue 3.5.1 any day now. I have no idea how big a threat this is, but was holding off on updating until 3.5.1 is released.

Sorry, zep. I couldn't find anything that helped. One thing I saw was someone saying: I was able to disable scaling by setting layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 1 instead of -1. Now everything looks like it did before the change. It might as well have been written in Greek, because I sure didn't understand what he was saying. I'm thinking of maybe going back to version 21. Mine did it automatically which I didn't like. No problems just would have liked to have done it myself. How can I avoid this in the future or does it automatically do it for everyone that way? Thanks.

you are welcome, I also did that update today on my firefox 2 and it went very smoothly with no errors, I think it was the last time I did the update that I saw the same error you mentioned. I know I do have a few older addons that are no longer updated and it might be that it tries to connect to those and it does not work, but I am just guessing LOL

that version of firefox is one that is still being supported and they are providing updates for it, I still have it on a couple of mine. But she can always try going to 8 and if she finds it does now work well for her she can go back to the same version she had. Just look at the verison number she has now and write it down so that if she does want to go back we know which version to provide. I have found that on some of the older computers that the latest version of firefox can cause some issues. I have had to help a few people revert back to the still supported lstest version of 3.xx. Security should be better of course on the most recent updates of any program.

BTW, I am currently on 3.0.11 and have encountered no problems with it.

Just a couple questions.

Where is the up roar that FF has a security issue? Where is the march on the castle to burn FF at the stake? It seems every time IE has a concern users get all over it with condemnation.

Though IE has a significant edge on total concerns, this is not the first time for FF either. If users don't hold Mozilla's feet to the fire for a comprehensive browser I can assure you in time they will become lacking. Like many previous flagship applications they could just be taking their turn at the head of the class.
