New FireFox

I have been review the past comments regarding the update to the NEW FireFox. Is OK to do so now or should I wait a little more??? Thanks

Why not install it and see how you like the new version? You can always revert to an older version if you find you do not like the latest one.

Personally I found it is not worth the time to install v5 as I found nothing beneficial by upgrading. Also, at the time half of my add-ons were not compatible. I went as far as reverting to v4.0.1.

Regardless of your decision be aware FF v6 is schedule to be released next month.

I have never seen a firefox add-on called that, I did a search on firefox extensions page and nothing with realplayer in the name even came up. That is a new one on me. You can always try getting Real Player again should you find you need it. Or you can get something like Real Alternative which will play Real stuff and is light and easy. Download Real Alternative RealPlayer as stated by MozillaZine you have 2 alternatives for Real media. since you gave me the exact name I googled it and sure enough it apparently does appear for some people and it looks like it is causing a lot of problems and it can be disabled here are the results Here is a link that might be useful: search result

you can add a new tab icon to your firefox navigation bar by clicking on view toobars customize that will open a box with a lot of icons you can drag onto your navigation toolbar, one is a new tab icon, just drag that onto your bar and click on it when you need a new tab. or you can just right click on the tab bar itself and select new tab. or any link you want to open in a new tab just right click on the link itself and choose open in new tab

When I have uninstalled firefox before installing a newer version the bookmarks, history, etc. have stayed in the Mozilla folder. To be double safe you can export your bookmarks (bookmarks > organize bookmarks > import and backup) to a file in your My Documents folder before uninstalling. That way you can delete the folder after uninstalling if you need to do so to install an older version.

where firefox lost many many users was when they started having a new updated version almost weekly and many did not work properly. People got tired of trying them only to find it broke stuff. I am very disappointed with firefox for handling things the way they did. they had a great thing going and just had to mess with it. I have not tried Chrome since way back when it first came out and I did not like it at all then, but I would be willing to give it a try. I do not use the mobile firefox on any of my andorid devices it is not real stable. I use Opera mini and Dolphin along with webkit which is default on my HTC.

I just recently read an article that said they were considering doing away with version 4 now, not sure why but the article said that 5 was the one they were going to support.
I have not used either version, they are still updating and supporting 3

I recently updated to FF 3.6.18 from 3.6.17 on June 21st and no issues and I'm staying there for now. I just came across the article below that stated Mozilla expects Firefox to hit version 7 by the end of the year.

Version 3.6.18 is definitely a keeper for me. Even FF5 has issues from what I found when googling FF5 issues!!!!
