Scapes have suddenly started here in Malagash(Northumberland Strait area]..and I do think it's early...Cdn Border Patrol, Earth Angel are heavily scaping along with other earlies. There are about 600 varities here along with "a lot of seedlings," some of which are budding...I've got to learn how to post pics..maybe my nephew can show me. I do hope I get a bloom on SMile Again[new this year]....cheers and watch those scapes when weeding[I already snapped one off of Do My Best....:(...

Wow, loads of great tips. Owbist, I always forget about CCleaner having that tool. I do use WinPatrol and found it odd that it didn't pop up to warn me when I installed Quicken. I took a look there and it was not listed in their Start-up menu. I looked around and found it listed under 'tasks'. I clicked, 'end task' and that worked. Then, I went to CC and found it listed in Start-up but it was greyed out so Win Patrol took care of that. Strangely, it was not listed in my Start-up folder. I knew I could use msconfig but prefer not to use that unless I have to. I have a lot of space and memory on this computer, yet Quicken really slowed down my start-up. I'm glad to finally be rid of it. Thanks so much for the great tips. I hope it will help others who find things running without their permission. You folks are the best. This forum is the best on Garden Web. If any of you have problems growing Orchids, just let me know...I'll personally take care of them for you :-)) Jane

I found a website created by a grad student from Singapore who is studying "food perceptions" of all things. This entire website is dedicated to unraveling the "great pine nut mystery" (don't you love the internet!). Here is a picture of pine nuts. "S" is apparently what you want. "A" is what you don't want. Similar in size.. posting another pic below which is a close up of "A". close up on PNS (pine nut syndrome) inducing pine nut Funny... Target house brand of pine nuts has only had one reported case of PNS but Trader Joe's has had 69 cases.... maybe I'm not ready to give up on Target yet (maybe I am still being naive to believe everything I read on the internet.... looks pretty credible to me though - will link the website below). No pop ups on top screen. But every time I posted or went to a link, moved to a new page on GW, a mysterious pop up for gambling hidden behind everything. Other than shutting down, the only way they went away was to click the x on them...sometimes as many as 15. The irritating rolling Target ad went away. Yes, I know about stopping all of this, but it seems like we have to continually update our systems. Agree...this is getting irritating and slows down using GW. Wish they would quit messing with the site. I can deal with ads on the side, but have no interest in what feels like video conferencing with their marketeers.
