Uniblue's process scanner: is it clean software to download? http://www.processlibrary.com/processscan/

And how does Uniblue's Registry Booster stack up against Regseeker?

I use Uniblue's Registry Booster, a fine registry cleaner that backups before repair and also lets you know when there is a bunch of backups stored so you can delete the oldest.
Registry Booster also has registry defrag which is a nice feature.

RegSeeker is a powerful reg cleaner. I've never had a problem with what it removes, but you never know. It does have a check box to backup, just in case something doesn't work quite right cleaning.

I just downloaded Uniblue Process Scanner and am running it.
Waiting for the results of the Process Library which now lets you search for and identify all the processes that should - or should not - be running on your computer.

It finished, pretty cool. I see that I have some services running that I don't need.
Thanks for the tip on the new Process Scanner.

Okay, so I also downloaded the Process Scanner. When I tried to install it, I came up with this:

I purged the program, and re-downloaded, with the same results.
So I searched the site's forum and came up with someone with the same problem. The suggestion was to run the Register Booster. I downloaded Uniblue's Register Booster, and came up with this:

Whaaaaaaaaaaaat ? 95% of what I know about PC's is from trial and error, lurking this forum and the rare postings like this one. I am so grateful to you all.

My brother installed the OS, when at that time, I had absolutely no clue what was going on. So what is a server edition, and is there a solution to my dilemma? I ran Regseeker and tried to install both programs again, with the same results.

gibby -- There was a reduced-benefit clause in the LTC policies we took, too. I was wrong when I wrote that we took them 15 years ago. It was 20! Also, we had to pay in for TEN years, not TWO, to (possibly) get something back. We'd paid in $11,000 in premiums at the end of ten years. This was a group LTC policy from Hancock, offered to us by my DH's then-employer. After ten years we became eligible for reduced-amount benefits. Each policy will pay $45/day for *skilled nursing care*, to a lifetime max of $82,000. The verbiage on any other type of care is obscure with lots of hoops and mazes. Looking at it now, I think we will have aided tbe taxpayer -- seems to me these benefits would reduce the cost of our care to Medicare. If I'd had any doubts about problems collecting on the policies, they were sustained when it took me six months to get a letter from Hancock stating that each of us had actually qualified for this reduced-benefit coverage. We eventually received single-page letters, undated and without signatures, with a lot of 'may qualify' and 'could be' phrasing. Their legal department could send us packing without breaking a sweat. Our situation is different than yours as to probable need for the policy. I'm glad you'll take that opt-out clause. You might want to see a letter stating exactly what YOUR reduced benefits will be, specific to YOUR policy and YOUR premiums, before you sign up.

"I don't know what the reasoning behind that statement was?" There is a lot of reasoning behind waiting a year after you get married. First of all, sometimes non existent parents find out you are remarried and all of a sudden, they pop out of the woodwork and want to reclaim their family/child. It isn't about the child, it's about their insecurity and having some other man/woman raising 'their' child. Then there is the issue of second marriages having a higher divorce rate than first marriages and adoption, unlike marriage, cannot be reversed. It is a legal obligation until the child reaches majority and you cannot divorce an adopted child. angelnetta, you need to speak to an attorney about adoption, not seek advice from the internet. I'll share my honest opinion, it seems that there is a lot of instability in your situation. Now, I don't know it all from your short post but your ex ran off with your friend before your baby was born and you've all moved to different states and he moves around so much you can't track him and nobody has ever put a dad on the birth record. and now you are getting married to a guy that was there when your baby was born... after you say your ex left just a week prior? That's a lot going on in two years time. This is just my opinion but an attorney would know for sure. You should establish the father with DNA testing and then proceed with terminating his rights and then proceed with adoption. If you shortcut it, saying you don't know who the dad is (and I don't know if you can even do that) then the real dad may someday pop up, ask for DNA test and toss any adoption out of the window. See an attorney.

I know a little about it but have no personal experience. I think your understanding is right. It's a practice banks evolved into doing (and boosted by a now expired federal program) for the reason you state, the process is intended to make payments more affordable to hopefully help the borrower avoid a loan default and foreclosure. For a bank, getting timely but reduced payments is better than getting nothing. There are no overriding rules, I believe what a bank will or won't due is determined by its own policies and choices. Most large mortgage lenders these days have very rigid guidelines and grant employees (and borrowers) little to no wiggle room outside of the rules. Sorry to hear about your situation, I hope things get better for you soon.

I'd guess that you have the wrong version of Windows for those programs to work correctly.

WinME 4.90.3000A is the Security Version, don't know if that would make a difference.
Windows Me is not built on the Windows NT architecture, that may be the reason you're getting the NTDLL.DLL error.
