Show me your white bathroom, please!

My master bath is all white...tile, spa tub, flooring, etc. I want to update it but cannot justify replacing the tile and fixtures since they are all in good shape. I will update my double vanity and sinks as well as lighting, wall color and window treatments.

I'd love to see your beautiful white bathrooms - traditional or old world style.

Here is my white bathroom: white on white two-inch hex tile on floor, white subway tile, white fixtures. You can see the walls are painted blue, but that's actually the only color in the room. However, it is a very small space (5x8) so that certainly affects the visual impression. I love it; white to me is clean, fresh and very pristine.

karezz: If you can post some photos of your existing bath, we (even those of us that don't have white bathrooms) might be able to come up with some specific ideas for you.

I need to see some, too. Karezz, would you post yours? I think I'm going with subwys and stain but the floor?? I'd like hex but I don't want to keep it clean so was thinking at least 12x12. What did you do? I also can't decide between ORB and white porcelain/ceramic do dads. I did find and strip some old wire coat hooks that were here and there all over the house. I can't imagine they are original because they look ORB now that they're cleaned of several coats of paint. Those same colors were everywhere in this house! Did they buy a 5 gal. pail and paint everything? I found the original kitchen door using the layers of paint detective work. But back to the bathroom. I am going black and white.......today.

Weedyacres...here you go. I wish that I put a cupboard below, but originally the toilet was going in that nook and it wouldn't have worked. The other bookcase is on the other side in our bedroom. This was empty space because we pushed the tub up to give the toilet more room. I hate dead space, so I put the shelves in. It ended up that there still wasn't enough room for the toilet...bad measuring on the part of the plans. This room was done in two parts, so it was hard to get a good feel for the space until all the plumbing had been roughed in and walls of the old space were taken down. I guess this is more than you need to know. I haven't figured out what will go in the shelves yet.

Hi Bill, I have seen mention of this Mapei on other threads and did a google search and came up with a lot of foreign-language links. Who makes it? Or better yet, can you give me a link to a website? (Also, I sent you an email - did you get it? I noticed another tile installation disaster today. Our Master Bath floor has been covered for protection until today when part of it was exposed while the double vanity was installed. The large 16" square honed Calcutta Gold tiles are not centered on any of the walls, so there are really off grout lines at the center of the vanity. It is really obvious and when I think about it I literally want to cry :( . This is our forever house and everywhere I turn, a tile job is done badly. I could really use a good referal!)

Kaysd, I really don't know what you can see of another person. I live alone and my guests use a different bathroom. It is not opaque and the non-leaf portions aren't very obscure. In the full door shot, you can see about 1/4 of the right side is a corner at the end of the hallway on the other side of the door. That might give you an idea of what you can see. I don't think if others besides a partner was going to be passing by that I'd have used this glass. But it sure is pretty!

Your bathroom is lovely. And I agree it looks very clean and crisp.

The look I am going for is traditional or old world elegant. Again, I am only replacing the vanity, counter and sinks, and lighting as well as wall color and window treatments. I am also considering replacing the shower doors with new, borderless ones. The colors shown (gold and burgundy) are in the adjoining master bedroom. I would prefer NOT to match the bedroom paint but of course need to compliment.

Any ideas are appreciated.

runninginplace - I agree that white is very clean and fresh looking. Your bathroom is great! I'm also wondering where you got the 4 drawer cabinet. I'm in the hunt for something of a similar size and would love to know where yours came from. thanks!

Karezz I know right! Especially since I have been shaking drywall dust out of my clothes and picking off pieces of pink insulation for close to a year now!
